Ok, so some idiot dumped roofing nails (the pre-assembled nail with a square head about the size of a quarter) over the road and of course I caught one (luckily just one). Put a nice hole in the sidewall of one of the front tires. Can't be repaired, so I figure I'll put the spare up front (which has never been used), buy another new tire to match, and leave the remaining 5 for the duals and a spare. Cheapest I could find was $165 bucks. Man that stings... .
However, a thumbs up to Walker Tire in Austin, they beat everybody's price (NTB, Discount, Sears, etc... ) and they were also the only place that had them in stock. Funny thing is, the guy told me he's never sold more than 2 at a time, and always as replacements to keep a matched set.
When these die I'll put a set of cooper's on, always had good luck with them.
