Just installed the gauges and the fuel pressure sits at 5lbs for the first 3 or 4 miles then goes up to 10 to 12 never more. Any ideas?

Could be the bypass valve on the lift pump, but either way, it's going south. Invest in the $150 from Cummins and get a replacement ASAP.

u know mine starts out about 9-10 psi but if im in traffic or stop and go for a while it will rise, sometimes as much as 17-20 psi. but if i shut it off and restart, its right back down to 9-10 psi. any clues? is it the bleed off valve on the side of the vp44?
