got my new turn over ball hitch installed and love it . It is so easy to remove the ball and have a flat floor, just took two hours to install, can't wait to use it.

I just ordered one from B&W yesterday and am impressed at the features it has. I looked at quite a few others before deciding on the B&W turnover ball. I think I'm going to like it



It should be here on Friday 1-31 maybe, next week for sure.



I found a wealth of information by using the search feature and typed in gooseneck hitches.

What did you guys use to make the 4" hole in the bed? Every where I look, no one has anything big enough. Glad to see these are working out as planned!!

4 inch hole

Hey guys, I used a 4 inch hole saw. Any large electrical supply store or commercial hardware store should carry it.

Hey guys,



I'm going to try a local tool rental place.



I've heard these are not cheap if you want to purchase one. I figure for a one time use it wouldn't behoove me to buy it.



I see in the install pics they use a piece of board when drilling hole. Is this so the bit doesn't walk all over the bed floor

4 inch hole

No, I did'nt use a board. The hole saw had a guide bit inthe middle so it was not hard to keep it straight, you must have patients though it takes a few minutes to cut through the bed, but when done the hitch fit nice and snug in the hole.

I don't have an 03, but am curious as to how the BW system attaches to the frame rails since there was a lot of discussion a while back on no drilling or welding on the frame? Thanks

wyosteve, neither do I mines an '02.



On the frame rails there is NO drilling from all I've heard and I also emailed Mike at turnoverball.com and he said same thing. This is one of the MAIN reasons I bought the B&W style.



JMullens, did you prime or paint the inside of the hole after you drilled ?All I've got is regular touch up paint. Let me know what you used please.

B&W Hitch

I just had mine put in on Tuesday and I love it. It is so nice to not be cutting as big of a hole in the bed. A word of caution though after going through the car wash the hitch was frozen solid and it took a while to get it lose with a hammer lying in the snow under my truck. I really love that it is rated for 30,000 lbs. My old hitch in my 99 was only rated for 25,000 lbs. It seems like it will be a great hitch.

Sorry Phil, I didn't notice that yours was an 02. I just assumed since it is on the 3rd gen. thread that it was an 03.

If you have one, a plasma cutter works great. With exception for a 1/4" or less around the hole, it won't burn the paint like a torch will, and is alot faster than a drill. Did that on an '82 F-250 that I used to have and worked great.

BI-METAL hole saws don't cost all that much. I've bought several different sizes for various projects. And now if I need those sizes again, I'll have them. The next size I'm buying is a six inch, for the five inch diameter vertical exhaust stacks I plan to install.

You'll need a big drill motor to power it. Then hold on real tight!!!
