In you guys opinion whats a good gooseneck hitch for the 3rd gens? Im lokking at a B&W turnover ball setup but before I buy want to get your input. Some say dont drill into the frame rails but most of these hitches do just that?!?! Any advice is much appreciated :) Smokin Joe

They don't drill into the frame rails. B&W takes advantage of holes in the frame that were put there by the factory. There is a "keeper" pin that slips into a hole in the frame rail and the other end is threaded and bolts to a flange on their hitch - all in all a very nice set-up. I too, would buy another B&W - see "reader's rigs" to look at the gooseneck conversion on my camper.

Cost??

CPittman, Can you give me a ball park figure on the cost? I'm thinking of building my own, but weighing the options. Thanks.

I bought my B&W off Ebay and I paid $315. 00 delivered to my door. My next truck will also have a B&W. . Not a second thought about it.....

Call the company for the nearest dealer. The company will sell you one, but they would like you to go through a dealer, and you would get it cheaper.

B&W, Hands down! Did mine in 3+/- hours. Install went so easy, I had that... "Something Got to go wrong sooner or later" I would Buy another!

I have always built my own GN hitches but bought a B&W for this truck and have had no problems. Just an idea I used installing mine ,I put a 2x4 across the top of the bed over the hole and used a come-a-long to suck the hitch up in place and get the bolts started.

I bought the Draw-Tite version as I needed it quickly to pickup a trailer I won on ebay. I should have waited & paid more for the B&W... but neglected to do my research in leu of time. I thought hitches were hitches... and the draw-tite claims its a hide-a-way hitch. I guess it it as the ball comes out, but you've got that huge 14x10 plate bolted to the top of the bed.

The B&W looks sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dealer installed the B&W for $344. That included shipping and tax. I also have the Companion 5th wheel hitch for it. Great combo. Well worth the money. :D

B&W here also. Put one on my 04. 5 and my 06. Great hitch system!!! Also agree on the 2X4 idea to winch the hitch up to the proper level :)
