Best Way To Seal Trailer Window?

Trip computer

Looking to buy a gooseneck hitch to haul tobacco bales, hay, and other farm items. Have read alot about B&W turnover, Una-goose, Diamond, and drop-n-lock hitches. Just want some opinions on which one and why. Thanks in advance.

I have had 4 different B&W's in different truck and pulled lots more than they were rated for around the farm. In lot of uneven stressful terrain and never had a one fail.

I have a Diamond. After one winter, the ball is now stuck in the up position thanks to the corrosion. I'm going to have to remove the hitch center section and replace it now because there's no way I'm getting that ball out of the base.

This is not Diamond's fault either. I didn't really use it very much and I didn't keep it lubed, so it corroded badly. If you keep it lubed and use it often it will probably last longer than your truck.

I am, however, disappointed that Diamond did nothing to prevent corrosion on their hitch. It came bare metal and now it looks bad under the truck.

I went with B&W because those Kansas boys know how to weld. Oh, yeah, reasonable price, great functionality, good quality, and no foo foo stuff, just good hardware that works everyday.

B&W here too - I had to modify it to add height with my body lift so I got to uninstall it and see how it's supported. It is well designed and heavily supported on the frame. I would caution the shop installing it to cut a nice round hole with a hole saw through your plastic wheel well liner. As opposed to a jaggety sawsall hole like I have.

In my 03 and 05 I had the Diamond and just put a B&W in the 07, and the differance in the mounting is unreal! The Diamond mounts with plates on the top and bottom of the frame rails with long bolts holding them together and has minimal support under the bed floor. The B&W has plates on the sides of the frame rails and u bolts around the front and a bolt through the frame from top to bottom in the rear, the floor has support from the front crossmember to the rear and is very strong. The Diamond had a lot of weight on it and did not give me any problem but the long bolts were always on mind while braking. The B&W is better in my opinion.

When I purchase one it will be a B&W.

My father-in-law has one in 2 trucks and my brother-in-law has one in his and they both like them.

I have always built mine own but with the weld scarr when these trucks first came I installed a B&W and havn'nt had a minutes problem. Sure like being able to just turn the ball over and not having to unscrew it. I finally got the welding specs on the frame and now have my dually running boards welded to the frame, gives me another jacking point. :-laf

Here's a different angle... I hate hooking up to a goose ball trailer. I always changed the trailer over to a king-pin and use a fifth-wheel on the pulling unit. Much easier to hook/unhook and if you load your trailer heavy, the weight gets distributed over a larger area at the coupler. PLUS... . you don't have to mess with safety chains either!

Una-Goose

Can't go wrong. All my friends in north Texas use these pulling capacities exceed almost all "light" duty trucks on the market. Stainless bearings aid in removal when not in use. ----Keep it oiled anyway! my$. 02

I called una-goose and got some info comming on their product. Seems like the majority perfer b&w. Would like to hear a little more info on them. Keep them comming guys. Thanks

what type of info on the B&W are you looking for? the install is easy and pretty much shows you what needs to go where. Ill post pics tomorrow of the setup in my 06

I bought a UnaGoose because I didn't want to drill more holes in the bed for safety chains. The chains attach to a collar that fits over the ball. I had to put washers between the inside/outside brackets so they would tighten without bowing. On the installation, I learned not to use an impact wrench on fine thread grade 8 bolts. They seized. No problems with the hitch, but if I had to do over, I would consider a B+W because of all the options. Mark

I was wanting some more info on the una-goose, but for $140 more dollars I wonder if it is worth it the extra. The only place that I could find to get a UnaGoose was factory direct and the cheapest place on the b&w was from tweetys rv on ebay. IC Smoke that would be muck appricated.
