OK here goes. I Am in an interesting position as my 07' needs a transmission with only 33k. I have been towing 6k to 9k every day pulling a detail trailer since I bought the truck 18 months ago. I have done all recommended maintence but my lead foot, oversized tires and other factors had nuked my trans. My buddy Boss Hogg on DTR just put a built Gorend on his 04 last week and did a turbo upgrade at the same time. He runs a smarty and a quad box. It is all EXTREMLY IMPRESSIVE. I will be getting the fully built trans within the month and Dave is going to need a list of power adders to get me the right t/c and lockup amount. I am going to upgrade to a HTT 62/71/13 ssOo at the same time and want to go back to the Smarty Sr. So Bob... can I run the Jr. from now untill october? If so do I need to run it on three? I will buy a Sr. because I want to run the tnt but dont have the money to do head studs, springs and by the Sr. untill the season (detailing) is over so what do I do. The goal is to have the t/c put in once. Thanks for any all help and tips from everyone not just from Bob. And thanks a million Bob.

Dave wants to know how aggresive you will have the low end fuelling on. The JR is not aggressive, its really nice. The big Smarty can be aggressive and thats hard on a 05-07. Dave will probably have you go with shift enhancer. Its a good idea especially w/ big tires. you need billet input, flex, 15 blade left cut, shift enh. , and a "W" VB. PM me if you need a Smarty and if you need faster trans help PM me or give me a shout. P. S. we can't see sig.

yep its on now, Make sure to tell Dave "W" vb and aggressive throttle responce if you plan on going with Big Smarty.

Reb, I have his 48RE race VB, it is a few years old, have a 24V stock TV spring. I am wanting to have lots of pressure on the line, to make sure the transmission isn't slipping. Worth While for me to change?

Ny Question to XXL Texan, What are you trying to build? Do you want the truck to be a every day Puller thats going to Be operator friendly, or a race truck that going to feel like you moved from the driver seat to the rear seat everytime the truck shifts. depending on how your trailer is setup you could be setting yourself up for some heavy jerking if you don't control your fueling when shifting.

TWest... I have been towing one thing or another for a long time but for tax reasons i need to buy and use another ctd 03+ before dec 31 this year. I am in the proc. of converting my 07' to a daily driver/toy and it will see limited use as a work truck. This 07 is going to become my baby (my wifes bane!) and my goal is to put the "built" Gorend trans in it once. I am trying to build a daily driver that sees almost no towing but that sees a ton of miles hauling me, my wife and the dogs quite a bit in the summer (as I am a school teacher, dog breeder) as well as a weekend track star. I no longer need towing manners for this truck but I like my buddies setup I talked about before. I am trying to figure out the trans setup as it it probably the single most expensive mod us auto guys do. I would like to just do the trans and wait to do the turbo and Sr. when I can afford it but Dave Gorend told my buddy he needed a list of his mods for the trans before he got it. I don't mind keeping the Jr. w/ a stock turbo till I can afford the leap but it seems that I need to have specifics for the built trans. I still need the trans and need to know what the heck to do. If I have to bit the bullet and buy the 2k turbo and sell my Jr. I will but I would prefer to do it in stages. Again thanks guys for the help. . i really need the direction.

I forgot to mention my buddies truck is an 04. The trans he got from Dave evidently has a much simpler way of locking up the T/C. Hope that helps. Thanks
