Do you have (have had) a Gorenend transmission. I'm looking at a full built transmission and TC. I want to know good, bad or indifferent. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR HEAR SAY OR INFORMATION ON OTHER VENDORS AT THIS TIME. If you have have a bad experience personally and can give me FACTS ON GORENEND, please let me know. In turn, if you have great feed back ON GORENEND, PLEASE let me know that and why. Seriously, dont slam others as they will be giving opinions with facts backing their statement. Thanks guys :)

I have a Goerend transmission. I paid a visit to Dave back in February to get my transmission rebuilt. He did the updates in a day (valve body and torque converter plus a few other odds and ends). It was an interesting visit, the difference of course was night and day. No problems so far with 10k on the odometer since then. I am definitely a happy customer.

Goerend BROS TRANSMISSIONS

Mish, I have one of Daves transmissions and triple disc converter. Dave builds a great trans and converter, if for some reason a failure would occur you won't get any BS. Dave stands behind everything that goes out the door. I've broken parts that Dave replaced for free. He has sent me 3 different torque converters to try to see which one I liked the best. All the other well known trans GURUS will charge you at least $300. 00 to up grade your converter. Daves the kind of guy who treats as good if not better after the sale. Buy with confidence you'll think you're driving a completly different truck. Thanks Steve B.

Had them build and install mine. Have put on almost 4k miles, since then (the last week of Jan. ) Couldn't be happier. :D

Can't slip this one. :D Runs a bit cooler, too, as compared to the stocker. The tighter convertor is great, too.

Thanks gentleman! I ve been talking to Dave. Super guy... . Its just ALMOST too good to be true. The money to ME to replace a transmission is a pretty hefty expense. I admit Im new to all of this and transmission needed replaced when I purchased my truck and I kind of need to act quick. Im not looking to have my A$% handed to me on a drag strip or pull. I want to be able to "play" yet have something VERY reliable. 400-450 HP is all Im looking for MAX.

I have daves trans for about 50000 mile now. I have towed 10000 pound trailers, pulled stumps done a few brake stands.

When he installed it he let me use his personal suburban for the weekend! He and his shop are "true people" They would give the shirts off there back and stand behind everything they do! They do things the old hand shake way. No fancy Vegas lights, Fancy web pages, Glitter or B. S.

Too funny, that is what I said, "this is all the power I want". Yet the list keeps growing. As far as Dave he is a great guy, and his transmission's are even better. I know 5 guys personally that are using them and they love em. good luck on what ever you choose.

I have 55,000 miles on my Goerend transmission, and would do it again in a heartbeat!! As others have said, Dave is great to work with.

I've actually never met him in person, but did everything over the phone. He built a transmission to handle the power level I was aiming for, and shipped it to a good local shop for installation.

I have a great transmission that handles everything that's asked of it for much less money than any other option I checked out!!

FWIW from a satisfied customer. :)

Seems to be the same people posting to these post

The Other guys PM you as Im sure Greg Is getting right now

To any Newbie just because it seems everyone has the same type of trany they Dont the compition Owners use the PM's to talk to the Inquireies because these GB Guys are A bit on the edge.

Not saying the GB is not a quallity product. But there are more options

DM

Yep, there are more options. Speak with each vendor, do your homework, then decide which one is right for you. Try to spend your $ wisely and do it right the first time.

No DM and I are not KIN. He's a buddy of mine. He has also taken a GREAT deal of time on educating himself of the different options. Transmissions just happen to be his most recient discovery. In fact he was looking hard at another company/ set up and I asked him to look into Gorenend before he did anything. So he did. Cant fault a guy for that... right? We are in need of two different trannys (as far as I know jump in here DM if im wrong) He needs modification to a transmission that is in good shape. I,on the other hand, am in need of a complete transmission. Im not looking for any wars, im just hunting guys that actually have the transmission so that I may educate myself. My transmission has a cracked OD housing and most of the bands are shot. (therefore I might as well go with a complete unit)I probably wont go with a "high dollar" brand as my finance manager( AKA wife) will use the truck to run me over, and over. Like I told him,(again you guys may or may not be with me on this) I feel any given component, can break at any given time. This happens on all brand names. What I look at is how is the cust service after the sale. Ive spoke with Dave and considering what yall have said thus far he is ALL about his transmission no matter what. (well... with in reason)

Again, it's GOEREND not goresend, Gorenend, or whatever you guy's say. Give the guy some respect and learn how to spell his name right. It's no that hard to do.

That being understood..... You will not be dissappointed with Dave's trannys. As I'm sure you have seen or read... I'm a Goerends guy. Last spring I toasted my other trans. At that time my truck was my daily driver. Dave and Tim at Torque Diesel bent over backwards to get me and my truck back on the road. One week after I got the trans I went sled pulling for the first time. I have since pulled again, and the trans has preformed flawlessly. Even under Wide open throttle pulling a sled, I could bairly feel the shifts. I actually heard more than felt them. I have Drag Raced with it, pulled trailers and beat on it every day. The Trans fluid change that I preformed at 10,000 miles and another at 30,000 after rebuild showed no debris in the pan.

I did make one mistake... that was all my fault... and Dave still took care of me. A good friend of mine thought it would be a good idea to take his 1/2 ton Chev mudding in the swamp by his parents house. Of course he got stuck. So I went to pull him out. I was in 4hi and on pavement. We hooked up the 8000lbs winch and stalled it out! So instead of turning the truck around or putting it in 4low... . I just threw it in reverse..... and hit around 15lbs of boost. I got the truck out..... but I had no reverse anymore! I smoked a clutch pack in the OD section. Dave helped me diagnose this over the phone and through Tim at Torque Diesel... . Had the truck back on the road in an evening.

actually your wrong RDLeader. . 1. For your thread. I don't feel the correct spelling of the name is helpful in any performance issues good or bad. I was VERY clear on the entire "slammimg" issue. 2. I made an attempt(not meaning any disrespect) I added GB to my favorites web sites and there its spelled GOERNEND BROTHERS TRANSMISSIONS. Upon further investigation at the web site it appears I've put too many "N" in the name. So Im sorry for the inaccurate spelling.

So, Thanks to the few that gave feed back that has helped out ... . Im done with this thread. If yall want to crap all over everyones upgrades and grammer and forget the fact that a newbie is trying to better himself..... its all yours. #@$%!

We all make mistakes... . I wouldn't let one post ruin your thoughts on this thread or this transmission. It's to bad Goerends doesn't have a catchy nickname like DTT or ATS.
