Just poking around under the hood today. I noticed an A/C compressor suction line by the oil filter (with the low pressure c/o switch) which comes up between the Turbo discharge to the cooler flex hose and a small coolant line from the back of the water pump discharge housing. The A/C line was leaning on the flex hose clamp, so I straightened it and centered it between the two previously mentioned items. I then noticed the line had wore a bit due to vibration against the hose calmp .:(

In an effort to prolong the inevitable I sliced a piece of hose and slid it on the line, wire tying it above and below the low pressure c/o switch to hold it in place.

Take a look and see if your's is the same - whether it is or not you might want to add a piece of hose as a dampener - cheap insurance;)

Anyone ever have to replace the line I'm describing? If so how much????

I had a similar problem

My previous CTD Ram, a 2001 3500, I found a

chaffing line where the airbox and right fender

come close to the AC line there. It had worn

thru considerably but I caught it in time.

My current Ram 2500 has plenty of room, and I

checked the area you mentioned but all is OK.

Thanks for the heads up! :D
