At 23 years young, I once had a guy at a race track tell me that MSD performance ignition would work wonders on my Dodge truck. He heard it start up and think twice about the stupid comment he had just made.

Do you like the 40 better than the B1? My 40 is good, but I notice my EGT's are out of control when towing... Kind of annoying. I cannot go without my 191's... . I would be a lost soul without my smoke!

Yes I liked the Kwikspool HX40 best... ... however no way will it live in my truck with my driving style. It exploded the 2nd trip to the track. Thats when I went to the regular B1... . and I liked it, just slower to spool of course, the kwikspool b1 is decent enough, just all bottled up with no wastegate at the moment. My truck has never towed so I can't relate.

So, I guess there are a few younger folks on here too..... nice I am 23 going on 24, and aside form the fact that I could get better mileage and have quieter cleaner power with an 03+, I am doubtful as to ever getting rid of this truck. I find there are more people who ask if it has a turbo... ... the B-1 through the Stg. 2 AFE is very loud, almost hurts the ears with the passenger side window open through an underpass, or even better, I was out cruisin' and a guy in an older Cuda with a huge blower and no hood stops beside me at the lights, "so how much boost does that thing make?" When I told him I could make just shy of 55psi, his jaw dropped, told me about his factory 12v and how it makes high twenties, kind of neat the way vehicle people are, even in 2 different catagories..... and yes the B-1 spools really well if you are feeding it enough fuel and if it can get air, and it's tough as nails.

I'm soon to be 22 and I am the originator of this thread from WAY back in Nov. of '02 when I was first getting into the diesel world! :-laf

I Just turned 25

And With the DHRA DECALS on my Rear Window and the Cummins Badges on my tail gate ... ... Im always shaking off all kinds ... ... mostly ford Guys ,,,,EG. . PSD and Mustangs.

Its not to hard to do just a reach down and a few clicks to the right and with ease of the throtle they go Bye Bye .

Dodge Guys dont useally ride my bumber ... . it may be the 6" stack pertruding from the rear and knowlage of a smoke screen.

Truck is about 40% now So Im not running anyone ... ... till next week when the new turbo is in.

I like this thread, it is hard to be anything too different, being as we are all Cummins folk at heart, but at least we still have a longer time to do it... lol Dieselminded..... what is this 5. 0 shift lever about? I bet your rig spools up retardedly fast, with that 35 on there do you have any issues with high EGT's? What is the new turbo going to be? Go for the B-1, you will not be disappointed, and it sounds awesome, louder than the one in the 427 Mack I was driving... lol Gotta love it... . let's see if we can find anymore of the "younger" generation on here..... Must be nice to be in areas where there are people who will race, seems like I can'rt find anyone who wants to play... though I did find an un-bombed guy with a CTD 24v straight piped, but when we had a space to play, he ran away... oh well, saves tickets.

3. 8 Shift Lever is Stock

ITs the Gauge of the lever,,,, the lever is what a rod smacks down on to shift gears With a Real High PSI VB the 3. 8 will get beat up ... Hints a 5. 0 lever its huge Really thick to take the pounding... ... ... (from what Suncoast Told ME)

I ditched the HY-9 went to a HX-21 ... . going to an HX-12

And No the HX-21 doesnt have a quick spool more like a SMOKE TRAIL as the pyro hits 1200* then boost builds and the pyro goes down to a reasonable state when its @ 30psi your doing about 100 then the pyro reads about 900* ... a good set up if you want to go 100 all the time and you like to leave a smoke trail everywhere you go. ... not so good of a set up if you ever want to take the comp off 5x5 and try to get the truck moving.

Are your EGT's pre or post turbo? Mine are pre-turbo, and about as high as I am comfortable with, I'd like to go with even bigger injectors, but fear the EGT penalty.

PRE Turbo

If you want a Non waste gated HX- with a 21 Cm Ext Housing and a welded up Down pipe to fit the Automatics Ext VIA the BOLTS other than a Clamp for $150 Its yours. PM me.

As I will have 2 spare turbos after this week. the 21Cm Housing has alot of lag if your not pouring the fuel in . . like a first gen.

Add me to the young cats on here. I just turned 20 last week. I thought this site would be of the older crowd that towed and hauled a lot. I guess it's nice to know that I'm not the only youngin that has seen the light!!!

Saw the list of birthdays a while back. Someone here had their 81st birthday. :)

26 here. Have had the Ram since Nov '01. Aiming for 500k miles. :D Nosing 200k at the moment.

I save my smoke mostly for tailgaters and playing a little on a back road or 2.

Nosing 200k, that is a nice low miles 12v... . lol I am at 218k with my '02... . they are built to drive, that is why I bought 'er.

I turned 30 last week. I get the "chip" question all the time, I set them straight usually. smoke is cool in moderation.

20 When I got the truck. 18 when I decided I wanted one. 22 now.

I had a reversal of roles the other night.

Guy was sooting everything up in a 3rd gen and I pulled up to ask what he had done.

He tried letting on like it was stock (it was obviously a box) The passenger finally said TST. I just thought it was odd that he played dumb.
