I'm 50 but, I'm really only 19... wife says I'm 12. I told her that can't be because at twelve years of age you don't have the mind-set to do a CTD justice! At 12 I was handing wrenches to the cool 17 year olds as they worked on their cars. They were like GOD to me and they had cute girl friends... . I knew right away that "cool wheels" count big time!:D

I never show off or give any indication there might be a chip in it.

Only chips in mine (if you are from England :D ) are the forgotten spilled fries under the seat.

I always love it when

you go to any kind of car show and you meet some "JOE DIRT"wanna be who says to the owner of the car "WOW does that thing got a cam in it?" Or the guy at the fuel island who thinks because he's got a K&N that he's tuff s#!t ???

All you young wipper snappers, (im 36)

I had a 66 VW beetle when I was 18. Not even a 12 valve diesel was avail then (1985).

Had to go to toyota for a while now I have what I always wanted.

I usually ask others if they had a chip or fuel box done. I have a bluechip 4 wire and a van atkin timing box.

seems like i'm 2nd oldest to post here...

at the RIPE (just ask my wife) old age of 41.

been asked, "ya got a chip?" exactly once... ... lost count of how many times i've been asked, "are ya stock?"

what i usually ask is the stock question... ... . Tim

I tell 'em that the timing/fueling box is a piggy-backed (onto the ECM) computer. They scratch their heads.

I'm 36 and I wasn't interested in Dodge until the Cummins, and then in '94 I got REAL interested and now in '02 I gots mine!

A buddy of mine bought his boy a new Cummins-right out of High School. He took his senior trip in it. The dad is blind, but he has real good ears. :D

I am 22, and will be 23 on March 30, 2003. . I am sick of everyone always thinking that banks is the best... . "Does that have a banks powerpack in it??" is one of the most overused questions... . I would like to get a banks sticke, and get Calvin to pee on it!! my reply, too is nothing short of explaining how I would like to urinate on banks, and that they are all name, and nothing more... for the price of a powerpack, you can get an HX40, CON OFE, and 4" Jardine. I know, because when I blew my HX35 (See my photo gallery), I called Mr Piers Harry, and got the RIGHT Setup! One thing is certain: Banks has poor customer support... A friend bought a powerpack, and his fuel box has gone out. All I have left now is a 3 piece ATS manifold, and BULLYDOG Stage 8 injectors from DIESEL INNOVATIONS :D :D Then we can really let the smoke roll!!!!

Chris you don't seem to realize that the vast majority of Cummins owners don't want smoke and look at it as what it really is - illegal and a waste of fuel. Banks kits work well for most folks, 100,000+ Cummins owners couldn't be that wrong. As for poor customer service, someone is yanking your chain.

Holy Cow!

I have socks older than some of you guys; :>) heck I have owned my "other ram" since 1967-----its a 1950 Dodge 1/2 ton "three on the tree", that had 32K miles when I bought it and it now has 112K miles. It has about 1,500 miles since its last restoration in 1986. (each of my three kids drove it to school for a year or two, and it got a "re-do" after each one of them. Only the last one was a complete restoration in and out.

I have a few old things I would swap to get some of those years back.

Well, I have been at a friend's house when he attempted to call Gale Banks, due to a lousy BANKS powerpack he has on his truck. In my truck, when I only had a #11 and a boost elbow, I could outrun his powerpack equipped '01 ISB 3500 with a NV4500HD... Something aint right there... Now, it may just be me, but I think I know that when you fork out $2600 for a so called 'power system', and a truck with a $250 fuel plate and nothing more can run circles around it, Hmm... .  Anyways, that's my $. 02 worth there... and for the smoke, it comes with larger injectors... . I meant no harm to all of you "NO SMOKING" folks out there, just that when I get some injectors, the smoke is going to pour out... . Not like Dave Mitchell's type of smoke, but I am sure it will resemble it in some way or another!!! :D :D

Foul. I had to wait until I was 38 to get a CTD. :{ This just ain't right, kids having big toys... :p

Me too. :D Got mine at 36. Owned 34 used and new vehicles, mostly trucks, before the CTD, and this is the one. I don't have the "itch" to look for the next one anymore. It does it all for me. Everything else seems like a "lesser" truck.

Here, it's "you turned that up, right?";)

amen to that too. yeah, i'm 17 too (who cares). people seem to think i'm rich. HA! not. although my dad makes good money, most people don't see what me and my mom have been through. don't judge a book by its cover as they say. and yes, i'm usually broke because i spend it all on my truck--damn happy about it too:cool: :D

and yes, i've gotten the chip question. i just teach them about the truck/motor. there aren't many diesels running around here that are modded--nevermind finding anyone who knows what they're talking about. i haven't been able to find a diesel that wants to race either :{

Since I finally lost the "temporary" Status and moved to full time at my work, we had a new employee orientation today, all day. . When it came time to say what I liked to do, I ended up going from saying a simple "Diesel Performance Upgrades" to explaining how a Diesel is different from a gasser, and what performance upgrades included for a Diesel. . I did not mind, as people need to be educated, as well to not be misled to think they are pollution machines the media makes them out to be, though looks may be deceiving at times!!
