I initially thought of 'Wife' or 'Honey', but those would have been in poor taste, so I won't suggest them.

How about 'Bear'? 'Furball'? 'Fluffy'? 'Spot'? 'Pearl'? 'Olga'? 'Grace'? 'Baldy'? 'Cleopatra'?

'Helen of Troy'? 'Opal'? 'Thiange'? 'Cinderella'?

Whatever you choose, it must be nearly unique. Uncommon pets deserve uncommon, yet tasteful, names. Dignified or not so dignified.

Eric, after seeing that pic, and you saying that's she's a spitting image, you gotta call her bear, he or she, it sure as heck fits :)

Nelson!

Hey,Big Saint. I should have named my pup "Nelson" after the brand of sprinkler heads he like to chew up?

He is a little better, but still likes the ocasional sprinkler head for roughedge... .....

I agree with what some of the others think. Wait a while and pick your own name. Some ideas of subjects to pick from are. Your favorite sport, drink, gun, state, city, hobby. What the dog does like "shadow" you or overpowers people "Brut". Have fun with it and maybe even have a contest with your family. :D

My lab mix is named Roxanne. She was "hey you" for the first three months of her life until I heard that Police song one day and the dog was there and it just stuck.

My Rottweiler is named Duke. Every male dog I think I've had has been Duke. It just fits a big dog, I guess. :D

Yes Scott, that's a pic of a Newfoundland. Her mom was wolf, husky, and German shepherd, but I dont know where those genes went? Our pup has slightly shorter fur, sort of like very fine fur, like a black velvet cat? But it's definetly her.

She's extremely calm, much to my suprise. That dont mean she dont like to play with the resident Chihuahua(Cookie).

She's still sort of in a "hey you,- diamond,- trouble,- midnight,- thunder,-bear" name sort of a way still.

I like Knucklehead, but my wife dont. :p

We sometimes call her "Dumbo" because she acts like a big galute. :D

Still undecided.

A few years ago i found a beagle, well, she found me. Close to death, covered with ticks (over 200) heartworm, and pregnant, (didn't know the later two until later) she came to my feet when I was working on a tractor in southern DE. I figured that with the chain marks around her neck and her current condition, the former owners, if any, had no business having her. I took her home and started to clean her up. When my buds came over they started to ask me ALL TYPES of questions, so i kept replying "I DUNNO". Well, once the beagle had a good meal in her (steak and Pro-Plan) the questions continued, so did my flip answer of "DUNNO" and the beagle would come to me each time I answered a question with that reply. So, the name "DUNNO" was picked by her, not me.

It's amazing how a dog can cheer you up or share in your happiness.

Never would have thought Knucklehead would have won! Great name..... sad part is I know my wife wouldn't let me name our dog that either.
