ESPAR Mounting ...

To Plow or not to Plow, That is the Question!

It's going to get cold, and I want a Webasto. They are installed on all of the buses I work on and they work well with very little problems. The problem I do have is trying to find one for my truck and a price. Can anyone help me out? Any info would be great!

Already tried that. But it seems that everyone who is supposedly a dealer doesn't even know what a Webasto is. I was hoping someone could tell me who I could talk to who didn't sound dumbfounded when I say Webasto.

I got an Espar from Interstate Detroit Diesel. I see they have a store in Omaha.

Since then Webasto came out with the smaller 5k BTU units that will fit in our trucks.

You could always mount one of those 80k Webastos in the box and run plumbing to the engine. May have to convert to 12 volt from 24 volt system though.

What brand of buses?

If you want a Wabesto, PM me and I will get you some information on them. That is all they sell up here in Fairbanks and for the rigs on the north slope. Everybody likes them because they have a circulating pump that circulates the hot water for the last few minutes of the heating cycle. Never heard of anyone up here having an Espar.

I thought about just using a Webasto off one of our buses, but I think it would kind of be like taking a machine gun to a fist fight. I think it would suck too much juice anyways for my batteries unless I added two bus batteries and then I'd have to run it on 24 volt instead of 12. I don't know, I think for now I'd rather just buy one for my truck then getting a huge one out of our buses. What brand of buses you say? Well, the big wig owner will pretty much buy and brand as long as it's cheap enough. We have MCI, Setra, Vanhool and Prevost. I also get the joy and privilege of working on old Thomas and Bluebird school buses.

Theres a few Espar units running around in Fairbanks WD. The guy I ordered mine from says he sells more Espars than Webastos. Waiting for mine to arrive, can't wait.
