Wayne, I didn't make it through Labor Day weekend!

2016 Nissan Titan w/ cummins spotted

I've always wanted one of these, finally found one I could afford. I should have it in several weeks when the seller returns from vacation. It was restored about 20 years ago and obviously well taken care of since then. It has a few little issues that I can fix. The odometer is not working and the carburetors could use a rebuild. This is the actual car covered in the magazine article. I'll make sure not to use it too much, I don't want too much more global warming with my name on it. New Legendary Interior seat covers are included in the sale. The mileage is believed to be original, and is substantiated in the next picture if you can read the article.

I don't like the way the numbers line up on the odometer roll. I have experience doing this from back in the day. When replacing a speedo head we would take it apart to set the roll to correct miles

According to the seller, who I have no reason to doubt, this just happened. The speedometer cable binds and releases with each rotation. According to the magazine article, which is from the mid-nineties IIRC, the odometer showed 56K miles at that time.

Going to pick it up on Thursday. It's about as affordable as a new HD diesel PU, but I expect it to be a better investment.

I think these finished depreciating about 30 years ago. There was a time when no one wanted these big gas burners, but the Hemi always held its value pretty well.

Got it home today. As I suspected, the accelerator pump in the rear carb. is not working. The odometer advanced to the next mile, so it appears to be working- for now. The magazine article is from the August 1990 issue of Mopar Power. Note the engine cost on the window sticker, it's 1/4 the cost of the car! Every light works, even the instrument lights. Just a quick heads-up for DEF truck owners, the 5500 the towing company was using was giving the DEF warning, "do not shut off, truck will not restart", and sure enough, when we got back to their yard, it was dead once shut off.

It's a beautiful car. After looking at the sticker it's no wonder they didn't sell more hemi cars. $900 up charge on a $2500 base price was a lot of money.

Ya, sorta of like the up charge for CTD engine!

The saying I remember is "You can't pay too much - You can just buy too soon." Love them old Mopars especially Hemis.

WOW!! Looking at the dash reminds me of the '68 Plymouth Sport Fury 2-door hardtop w/383-four barrel and factory dual exhausts that I owned. It was the least expensive car to maintain I ever owned... over 100k miles with only regular maintenance. I don't remember the MPG since I didn't keep up with it. Gasoline was cheap back then and International-Harvester was paying my traveling expense by the mile.
