Got flexplate issues?

I just stumbled across this in a magazine, it might be of some use to you auto trans guys. It's an SFI approved replacement flexplate for the 89-01 Cummins. They say it's tested to be explosion-proof @ 12,500 rpm to gain SFI approval. Should live on one of our slow engines. PDR has one that I think they are selling for $145. Don't quote me on the price but I'm pretty sure that was it. Saw it at the 1st gen day (where it was priced even lower, BTW). It is a very nice HD piece. It will be the flexplate I put in my truck when (notice I didn't say if) the time comes.

Flexplate... . (hmmmm) have to add that to the list, but I agree that is a definite must. In fact I'm using one on my little Ramcharger 4x4 with the big block and 727. Good thing to upgrade while it's apart, and cheap insurance.

Like Carl stated, Piers has a heavy duty flex plate, I picked one up at the 1st gen day and put it in the tool box so I will have it with me when the newest stock replacement one fails. I probably won't get as lucky as the last time one went out and be just around the corner from DTT, so thought it was a good idea to carry a spare.

I would recommend this to anyone even running stock power if you've got the transmission out anyhow, it's cheap piece of mind.
