Installed the Amsoil 4510 on my 03 today.

A little more noise but not really a whole lot... (my son says it sounds better, I can tell it only a little, but I'm half deaf from working on F-4's and F-111's)

Feels like it pulls better.

Used a 3" to 4" PVC slip adapter. Drilled a 1/2 inch hole in it. I tappered the hole a little to make it easier to get the o ring in. . used a zip tie to hold the sensor on.

I used a dremel tool to remove the ridge from the inside of the 3" side where the 3" pipe would have bottomed out.

Ditched the factory box and zip tied the filter in place. Used the stock elbows etc.

Hello, I just installed my 4510 as well. I have a 4. 5 ctd laramie 4x4. I noticed an increase in mileage from 20. 5 to 22. 1 doing 55 at about 1400 rpm. I used a 45 degree 4" to 4" coupler. On the end that goes into factory intake I put a piece of 4" pipe, that made it just right. Wondering if by using a 4" to 3" you are restricting the flow a bit?? Just trying to help, parts are certainly cheap. Steve.

General question about function of filter

I can see your not using an air box. As far as rain and road spray, are you not concerned about water intering though a soak filter. 2nd by using the zip tie to hold the sensor, did you fill the rest of the exposed hole. Just asking, looks like some real cheap increased air flow. Just wondering what advantages an air box housing could give.

no I didn't put any sealer on it as it worked out that he O ring on the sensor seals good in the hole.

Air box is in the works. hope to make it so can get more outside air than underhood air...

I noticed an increase in mileage over the stock donaldson filter, maybe a mile or so and it feels like it comes on quicker. .

am fixing to rack up 600 mile trip on it. will see how much better it is

Was finaly able to get away on a road trip...

1200 miles, steady interstate speed. No trailer... I got a heavy foot. . cruise set to 85 (about 2600rpm's). Last trip got 15... with the 4510 I got 16... so picked up a little. (pin and paper)

couple of back road trips where limit was 60, got about 19. .

Not the best, but my driving style is a little heavy footed. .
