Got my first Cummins (with pics)

Hi all,

A bit of introduction:

I joined the forum in 2009, then found a great deal on "some other brand". So I haven't been very active on the forum, because I didn't own a Cummins.

Recently I wanted to buy a larger Fifth Wheel trailer, so I needed a truck with more payload capacity than the 2500 I have been driving.

So I bought my first Cummins.

I hope this has enough payload capacity:

I got the Cummins, Aisin and 4.10 axle ratio for more towing capacity. And the 5th Wheel Towing Prep Group to make installing the FW hitch easier.

My wife and I will be retired soon and we want to do more traveling with the FW trailer. We have a Cedar Creek on order and expect to get it in early May. We will do some short shake down trips this year and do a couple mods on the FW. We like camping in the National and State Parks the best. Our first big trip will be driving the Alaska Highway in 2017.

RaceC,it is a nice looking truck,I believe it is a Limited,RAM 3500 looks to be a 8 ft bed,4x4,4:10 with a 5th wheel tow rating of over 30,310 lbs,and a bed payload of 5680 lbs. And a 6.7L "HO" Cummins of 900ft of torque.You have the highest tow rated truck in the 1 ton market,both in a 5th wheel,and goose neck.How is the push button start,also I see you have the drop down app application on the new gen 8.4ANAV system.I really what the center high mounted camera that looks into the bed,I hope RAM allows for a upfit for 2014-2015 RAM 2500/3500.Nice truck RaceC.

Actually......a 2016 RAM 3500 Regular Cab 2wd w/Aisin & 4.10's is the highest rated truck (31,210 lbs. towing capacity) :-laf

... How is the push button start...

I am really liking the push button start. Just keep the key fob in my pocket. The doors unlock when I put my hand on the handle and the key is nearby. Push the start button once and it starts when ready.

A note about the hand on the door handle unlock feature- when you wash, put the fob in the garage or far away. You'll see that if you don't, water on the door sensor will trip the system repeatedly. Happens on our '14.

My gripe with them is they should step up and make a hitch that fits the factory puck system instead of needing a picture frame adapter. They are a quality product!

I agree 100%. But that wasn't enough to stop me from buying the TS3.

I will know more after installing and using it. I hope I will be satisfied. If not they will take it back with a full refund.

If I had the MorRyde kingpin that has the fore/aft cushioning only I may have invested in the TS3 but I have the TrailAire air bag kingpin that really works well. You can see the RV floating separately from the truck in the rear view mirror.
