Got my NV4500 last night... . Wow... . that thing is impressive compared to the old getrag. Got my flywheel back from the machine shop today also... ... . gonna start on my project tonight!

Wish me luck everybody! I'm going to do as much as I can tonight before I have a trip up to Canada to visit some friends planned.

What is the easiest way to cut the floor out a lil bigger? On the video they used a handheld jigsaw... I figured a sawzal should work.

Now is that any way to treat friends. Bring them down to enjoy some of that fun also. Extra hands under the truck would be nice. :D

Sawzall should work. But the jigsaw will make a tighter radis hole than most sawzall blades will let you. If you know where the shifter is coming threw you could use a 3" hole saw.

Good luck on the swap

Where in Canada you goin? If it's close enough maybe i'll come and exchange that nv4500 with a getrag when your not lookin and hope you don't notice haha-J/K.

I'm headin up to Kelowna. I've got some friends up there I ride snowmobiles with. I end up going up to there about every 2-3 months. If any of you canadians wanna hookup let me know.

Man I'm like a lil kid at X-mas. I'm super impressed with the quad 4x4 guys. When they say complete kit they aint lyin..... They sent me everything from a new shift tower to brake cleaner for my clutch and ant-seize and a brush to put it on.

I was plannin on doing my wheel bearings on both my trucks and you can bet I'm gonna order all my stuff from them. Guess I'm just happy as they did everything they said they were gonna do and I dont seem to get that much in the way of customer service anymore.

Dam, that's too far for me bro, or you know I'd come out and make sure you had enough brews in ya to kill a moose! Yeah, i no, i'm a 21 yr old in a 34 yr old's body ;) lol. Hopefully some of the guys from north of the border will come out and help your stay to be a pleasant one. I don't think you'll be too terribly far from the Pastor, you should go see him, maybe hide his scepter... or stick... or whatever that thing is he's wackin people with ;) Enjoy your trip :)

you mean you are suppose to use a saw to cut the floor??... . hehe i just used a grinder... keep the windows open (burt rubber doesn't smell good)

one tip when you go to put the speedometer in... make sure you put in the right way... still don't have one

what company did you get your trans. from?? (i got mine from quad 4X4... never a second thought... except for the 4,000$ bill) lol. . just give me a pm if you have a problem... . everything that could go wronge, happened to me (good thing my chest can hold a NV4500 after it fell off the jack)

I got mine from quad 4x4

What do you mean about putting the spedo in the right way? I thought it could only go in 1 way?

So where is the pastor's location from Kelowna? I thought he was over in vancouver?

No problem Carl..... I have trouble sleeping so driving for 24 hours is usualy not a problem. about the 20th hour I usualy pull over and idle the truck for 30 min or so for a cat nap but then I'm good for another 4 hours easy.

my getrag speedometer. . the shaft coming out of the base of the speedometer is on an angle. if you put the shaft facing down it won't touch the gear in the trans. that = no speed... but u can look the cop in the face and say with out lieing that you had no clue you were speeding hehehehe (what ever you do don't tell him that your speedometer doesn't work) that's one reson that i haven't fixed mine... the other... . the fields need preping... . no time

on a side note saturday afternoon a 4430 John deer got stuck in the field with the 7 bottoms plows on it. took the plows off and still stuck, well my baby pulled that 4430 out of the mud (i was on the road, ofcourse) with ALOT of black smoke and 10 on lookers... should have seen thier faces..... non-believers... .

what does this have to do with this post... . good question... . NV4500 have a very low first gear, OFitzgerald don't need it for street driving, but it brings every foot and horse out of the cummins
