Think I will get a set

Sounds like a good deal. Do they seem to be sturdy enough to support a couple of people climbing in and out? I hate to buy chinese products, but it is hard to part with double the money or more for the same product. I'll post my experiences when I do order them. Might be a week or so.

Well I ordered mine last night. should have them put on next weekend. If someone can tell me an easy way to modify the file size of some pictures I will post them after I get them installed.

I just got my nerf bars in the mail today. I started installing them tonight and put the main brackets on that bolt on with the body mount. When placing the small bracket that goes from the main bracket to the body it looks like I will need to bend it to get the hole to line up. I was just curious if any of you had to do this. Thank you for the quick reply.

Thoes look like the exact bars I sell at my store, even the instructions are the same. They are the Raptor brand nerf bars.

I have installed over 75 sets and have never had any problems or returns.

Hope this helps,

John

The packing slip that came with mine did say Raptor Series, they were shipped from a place called CYC Engineering in Jasper, IN.

I am very happy with them so far. Couldn't beet the price.

Yeah, call me confused. I have the same tubes but I cannot figure out where the heckthose support brackets are supposed to bolt to :{

I have the main ones bolted up and loose. The direction are no help.

So here I sit with loosely hung step tubes. If it were my offroad truck they would be welded in

You're not alone. Mine was missing the replacement bolts for the body mount, I ordered those from McMaster-Carr. I got the main supports in (loosely) and I am trying to figure out which body mount hole the straps go to, no matter how I turn the strap, nothing seems right. The close up diagram shows the main support facing a different direction than the overall diagram and neither gives a good indication (to me anyway) where the steep angle vs. the shallow angle of the bar goes. I guess I'll futz with it some more. I swear I can make a 20 minute install last 20 hours... . :(

I will try and post a picture later. The only problem is I have a hard time downsizing my file size to post them. If someone wants to P. M. their email I will send it to you. You need to find the closest hole in the body that works and with everything loose get the bolt through the main mount, get the nut on the back and then start tightening everything up. Everything needs to be loose until all the bolts are started. Those braces will bend as you tighten them up and then it will all work. They don't line up perfectly when the braces are straight. Good luck hope I didn't confuse you more.

Just came in after successfully installing them :) What JCasper said is what I ended up doing. I attached the end of the brace with the shallowest angle of bend to it, to the main box that attaches to the body mount. It then more or less lines up with a hole directly across from it, pretty sure it was the first hole in the front and the last in the back. Everything kinda lines up when it's loose and when you get everything tightened down it's solid. Well, solid enough to hold my svelte 350# body anyway :-laf

I could do it again pretty quickly, but man that first time took way too long. And I probably would have given up, if there weren't several people who'd successfully done it. Thanks for blazing the trail guys!!

Just out of curiousity, what grade bolts are supplied for replacing the body mount bolt? I think all of my supplied bolts were 4. 5's. I ended up ordered 10. 9's for the body mount bolts because mine were missing and that's what the factory installed. I wouldn't feel too comfortable with a lesser grade bolt in there.

I have an idea where to mount it but will tackle that again in the morning since it's dark here and my drop light is broken

Got the pics and WOW do I feel dumb

I looked at them then went outside this morning and it was plain as day how it went. Thanks for the pics  I have to send them to my work email and will then post them for the others to see. I forgot I don't have the photo editng software on this computer (backup computer) but I do at work

Hey JCasper,

Can you email the pics as well? I am also having a horrible time trying to figure out the brace things as well!

I have them too. PM me you email and I'll send them right over. You're gonna kick yourself once you see how easy it is... I did :D
