Why don't people secure their dual pipes?

Comcast DVR???????

Thought you all might be interested in what the latest technology for back surgery looks like. I got these installed on 1 Feb and was walking the next day. I am still in recovery mode at home, but man it feels great not to have any more pain from blown disc.

Looks good on ya!! Let me guess... L4-5 and L5-S1? I take it the plates attached to the vertebral bodies are the titaniums. What are the discs in between made of and what holds them in place?

Yep the location is correct. The two lowest points in the back. It has been two weeks of boredome with another 10 to go. I have to wear a brace till the small spinal erector muscels get their strenght back. I should not gripe though, probably the only vacation I get for a few years. :D But, it is amazing that the pain that was there just disapeared. On the plus side, I lost 1/4 inch in height before the operation, but after this I am 3/4 of an inch taller, I had to actually lower the seat in the truck :D

Check out this link. The right column has a box labeled media that shows how they go in place. I believe that I am the first person in Oregon to two of these at once. Not sure about the US.

Very cool. When I had to get a couple vertabrae in my neck fused I looked into artificial disc technology because I didn't really like the idea of a fusion. It was experimental still at the time and they couldn't do it in the cervical region yet. I'm still glad I went with the fusion in that region - I don't have any noticeable range of motion loss and as with you the instant relief was incredible. I had lost the use of the outer 3 fingers on my left hand, had numbness down my arm, and an intense amount of pain. The second I woke up from the surgery it was gone. The recovery wasn't fun having to wear a neck brace for a few months but it was certainly better than the pain I was in.

I just saw an ad for these in the airport believe it or not!!

I have an appointment tomorrow to review my myelogram results. I have a vertebrae slipping forward (spondylolisthesis) at L5 and S1. I'm looking at an anterior fusion with 2 titanium rods and bone "bridges" on each side of my vertebrae. I've been out of work for almost 6 months! It seems like it takes forever to get anything done - appointments, tests, consultations, etc...

I hope I have the same results after my surgery. Congratulations!
