There are pisc of my wrecked dodge in my reader's rig gallery. I can't believe I never got any good pics of the truck before the wreck. The body shop quit writing the estimate at $28,000 there is over $18,000 just in parts. Then they said it would take a minimum of 65-70 days to fix it. That is another $4,000 for the 2004 Chevy 2500HD ex cab 4x4 they are renting me at $60 a day. Now I am waiting for them to total it out. I will be adding a few more pics but there are 17 right now.

Man that sucks... very nice truck!! Sorry to hear (and see) that kind of carnage.

Hopefully your insurance company gives you a little something for the add-ons you put on it... usually many of those are your loss.

But still... very nice truck!

Are you going to replace it with an 03 or 04???

Maybe you can re-coup some of your losses by uninstalling some of the undamaged accessories and selling them here on the TDR.

A lady ran a red light doing 40 mph never touched the breaks and hit me in the front axle while I was doing 20 mph perpendicular then I ran up on top of another car. All 3 vehicles were totaled mine was the least damaged but the parts that were damaged were not cheap. Her insurance company has to pay for everything even the accessories. I am replacing it with a 2003 but I am afraid to tell you all.

Let us know if you plan on selling any parts. I doubt you will get anything from the insurance co for them.

Nope that has already been disucussed I am definately buying the truck back and they are giving me the market value of the truck and compensating for the accessories because their client was at fault. If it would have been my fault an my insurance company then I would have a problem but when someone else is at fault, they have to fix it exaclty how it was before the accident or total it including the accessories. They can't argue anything either it is all your choice even the parts they use and the body shop.

Yeah the lady calmed down. I think she was upset because she only hjad her temporary drivers permit and no one was with her, she was cited for that. As far as rebuilding my body man said if it had a sentimental value or if it was a show truck then rebuild if not buy a new truck. He said the frame is bent/twisted and there is so much damage under that front end. If you were to rebuild it back to stock form you could do it fairly cheap but that I could not do as it would be no fun.

All the money we put into our trucks, it makes a guy not want to drive on the street. Too bad cause it was a good looking truck.

sheesh... sounds like you are getting a SWEET deal!! altho no amount of money is going to give you back what you once had but... . can i ask what you are buying it back for $$wise?
