Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Got The 0216 Code Tonight!!!!

went to a little local pull tonight and at about the 200ft. mark my truck stumbled a little and then picked back up and i thought maybe it just bumped the govern at about 3250, but when i got home and checked the codes i got the DREADED 0216 pump timing failure!!:mad: :mad: has anyone tried getting one replaced(pump) by the dealer if you have used a grabber instead of scotch lock? dealer works on my truck here and knows all mods but i know that cummins can void it when they send the pump back. just wanted some input on any one that might have tried.
 
Either way you look at it the line has been peirced. The dealer may replace it unknowingly, but if Cummins catches the mistake on their end, they might make the dealer buy the pump.
 
One of the aftermarket dealers, I think it's All City Diesel, has some good prices on the VP44, that or call Piers for a modified one.
 
Are you serious? You have big mods to your motor and were running it in competition and you want Dodge to foot the bill?
 
my dealer like most are not pricks!!!! they don't care what i've done to the truck. the only things they won't fix are things that are to obvious. i've had a new transmission put in and also a head gasket and many other numerous things. i'm sorry for all of you that don't have good dealers.





lmills, do you think you could find out where he got his pump?
