Got my truck in the shop last week and installed 1" lift skyjacker softrides in the front. My bump stops now have 2 3/4" of clearance. Installation was quick and easy. Also installed Rancho 9000s' on all 4 corners. Definately a huge improvement in the ride!:D Oo. I gave her a good test on some rough pavement and did some experimantion with the different settings on the shocks. I like these shocks a lot. One place I called when pricing these items tried to talk me out of going with the Ranchos. The guy said he had several friends who installed them and would never do it again. He tried to tell me that the adjustment is only for the re-bound and doesn't control any dampening. I don't know what his problem was but like I said, I think they work great. I also installed a Hella 50% brighter headlight kit, some 55 watt hella foglamps, and a brite box. Biiggg difference in nightitme ilumination :--) wish I'd of done that a while ago. A guy needs all of the help he can get spotting those pesky deer critters when driving at night.

Oh yeah, I also installed the Borgenson steering shaft upgrade. The longer I have this truck the better it seems to get!

Light Kit

Hi tclark,

Just curious about the 50% Hella headlight kit. Do you have any part numbers and an approximate cost for it? We have a lot of deer in Indiana too. Thanks. Glad you got a better ride. I am wanting to put the 2. 5" front lift on my truck. I like the Rancho shocks too. They take most of the see/saw motion out when I am towing a bumper pull trailer.

Where were your bump stops before the upgrade? Mine are about an inch off the springs, and I'm thinking about replacing the stock springs (local spring shop price $249 per side) to fix. Did you replace your springs or just install the lift kit. I too need shocks and was looking at the Rancho's. Did you have any trouble getting them on the front. If I remember correctly the application guide says they may be tight.

Thanks!

Yeah, those lights might be a good idea. I live in "deer central" myself. Now that hunting season is over, I see lots of deer on my way home from work. Have some close calls, but so far, no contact. ;)

PPeters, my bump stops where also about an inch off the springs before installing new springs. I installed new 1" lift springs and they raised me about 1-3/4". I believe that the 2"-2 1/2" softride springs would have leveled the truck. Now the rear is a little higher. The skyjackers were $139. 00 apiece ,with bushings, from rocky mountain suspensions. I would consider those if I were you. The best price on I found on the ranchos was from Summit, $61. 00 apiece. The bushings are tight on the front with the ranchos. I called Rancho and the tech said go ahead and hammer them on;) which I did. Lube the bushings up and they will go right on.

Case500 the Hella 50% brighter headlight kit was $39. 00 per side and converts your sealed beam system to a replaceable bulb halogen system which is definatley brighter. Got mine from Summit, it's on there website. I was thinking about adding another set of driving lights on my ruenel bumper but am glad I went this route w/ the brite box as now I just have my foglights mounted on the bumper. The brite box is available from Genos and makes your low and high beams stay on when the high beams are on. This makes a big difference.
