Right now I've got nitto terra grapplers and they are absolutely horrible. Good looking tire but aweful treadlife, especially while towing. When they heat up they go very rapidly. So, I'm looking at getting some toyo M/T's. From those who have owned them, what kind of wear did you get out of them and how about while towing. How many miles did you get out of them before they were bald?

I've got 35x12. 50 Toyo M/T's. I run empty most of the time, but have towed maybe 6,000 miles with them. I've got 32k on them, and they may go another 4-5k before bald. --Eric

Had them on my powerjoke. Great Tire ,will be putting a set on my 06 when it gets closer to hunting season. They rode well & lasted. I rotated them every 3500 to 4000 miles. Fairly quiet as mud tires go & worked extremely well offroad.

I have a set on my 03 3500 4x4. 35X12. 50X17. I have about 35K on them and have prob 5K left on them. Very strong and true sidewall. No flex which I hate having in a truck this size. Wearing perfectly but getting a little noisy toward the lower tread life. You might have to sell your firstborn to buy a set. I would buy them again.

35 12. 5 20 Toyo M/Ts. I have 18. 5k on them. 8k of that towing 10k lbs. I rotate every 3500 miles. I run 50 psi all around when empty.

I am about halfway through the tread. I expect to se 40k miles out of them.

They have outlasted my Weld EVO rims. My rims are being replaced due to flaking chrome.

Do you guys think the 295/70 17 would fit on a non leveled truck? I`m worried they may rub, this would be w/ the stock wheels.

Yep you'll be fine with 295s, that's what i'm running. I like them pretty well but only have 5K on the truck and tires.

I just starting getting our work trucks switched over to the Toyos. We were running Goodyear MTRs but there always seems to be some sort of availability issues with them about once a year. The environment we run in we were getting about 9k miles out of a set of 285s. One good thing I will say about the Goodyear’s is that they were the only tire that would not disintegrate when you got a flat. We tried pretty much most of the major brands and when the rigs got a flat the tire would come completely apart and cause major damage and take out the rim. So far 15 – 20 trucks have the Toyos on them and we have only had one flat due to a nail in the tire. Still waiting to see life expectancy.

I too have the 295's on my new ride. I probably wouldn't get the MT's agin. There has been no increase in fuel economy like I had expected. I guess if all you want are looks and a great off-road tire... well, then their for you. I will go back to my M-55's. I got better fuel economy going with those on my last two CTD's... ... I guess I just don't need fat tires. Screw the looks, I want a skinnier tire... maybe less roilling resistance. Tired of spending $$$ on diesel...

Just a thought... .

295

I just put the 295-70-17 on a set of stock rims, they are great low noise and the size is perfect for my 06 with no rubbing at all. I only have about 400 miles on them and half was towing so I don't have mpg report yet but I will let you know. My speedo is off by 3 to 4 mph on the freeway as per my gps. The thing that suprises me is my rpms only droped about 100, I had heard claims of 200 to 300 rpm drop. Dale

Tmartin, is your milage worse or the same? If worse, how bad?

Well I put them on about a month after I bought the truck. After adjusting my speedo through the dealer, and checked with a handheld GPS, I am right on. That being said, I see no appreciable difference between the mileage with the tires. The drag is, I only have 11K miles on the truck. So, I would hope the mileage increases due to engine break in. I got the same 14. 3 before the tires, and after the speedo was recalibrated... . still get the same. I alway hand calculate my MPG, and have a record since the day I got her first dealer fill-up.

On my last two CTD's, I always picked up almost two MPG. THat was with the M-55. Not these fatter tires, MT's.

Clarification

Maybe I should have specified a little better on the milage. I'd like to know how much milage you're getting out of them. For example, I'm barely getting 20K total out of my Nittos before they are bald.

best tire i ever had and still the tire i have 35 x 12. 5 and i tow a 20k trailer no blow outs and great millage. 30k to 40k and i tow a lot all over the country. all i can say is better than any other mud tire on the market in my opinion.
