Just got my DDII's today, they say that their boost module is out of stock for a few days. I can't find the $$ price on an EZ, should I cancel the boost module from DD ($300) and get the EZ? What are you guys paying for the EZ?

Heck yes get the EZ or I'd probably get DDs version in which level 1 is timing only. $300 for only a boost module is completely insane, pay another $250 and get the EZ. Remember TDR members are supposed to have 20% off so it should all be a lot less than the prices quoted.

I have the DD ultimate fuel module

You can always leave the setting low until you do the other upgrade you need for more power:D that way down the road you wont have to purchase another module.

Thanks ALL. Just got off the phone with Keith from DD and switched from the boost module ONLY to the True Torque box. Should have done a bit more research. You guys saved me some $$ (RE: the TDR 20% discount) and helped me get what I really wanted, MORE POWER:D I was thinking about the EZ box but thought I would get the DD for two reasons, I already was "owed" the boost module so $ was very small to upgrade and I figure that if I trust their injectors I outta trust their fuel box, right? Anyone got the DDII's and DD Tru Torque combo on an AUTO? Be interested to hear he pains and gains:eek:

Boost module for $300 is insane, glad I upgraded. . Devildog, what is the difference between the True Torque box and the one you have? Power and more settings I assume. I noticed that you have an AUTO as well. How many miles with the DDII's & fuel box? Have you fried anything yet:) What are your EGT's under heavy load. Do you have 4" exhaust or upgraded air filter/system? Thanks again for all of your input.

TTPM and Edge EZ are both made by edge. They make them for alot of companies. They(dd) claim to have their own programmingbut, I have heard form a secret source(maybe edge,wink wink) that they are one and the same. With the new box you might want to order up a DTT transmission upgrade. Unless you like your transmission with eggs???? TOAST!!!!!!!!!

Hey BOB! I was on the phone with Krystal @ DTT when you posted... I already planned on smokin... Just wanna milk it from the 95K miles I've got now to maybe 125K:rolleyes: I guess I will have to see what REAL power does to my 47RE. I have run the last 92K with 275's and the rest of the truck basically stock. I pull an 11' tall, 20' long trailer that has no aerodynamic nose cone so it's a big kite. Of course I could a cone on the trailer but where is the fun in that. :D BTW, you guys are making it sound like I might blow the transmission in my driveway after the DDII's and the box! Don'tya think I can get a few miles on my poor bone stock transmission?:{

Update: Installed the DD True Torque box and boost elbow yesterday. Most simple 50HP install I have ever done. Left it on three (default shipped setting) with my 275's. Very slight smoke on full throttle, 28PSI boost and 1150 EGT with no trailer. WOW, Feels like I cut 3000lbs off the truck! Scary how fast it goes to 90MPH. I can see why the auto trans will not take too much more, the power curve is significantly more intense, mostly from 10PSI boost and up. I understand the DDTT is "less aggressive" than the EZ (and 15 HP less) but us auto guys have to gently prepare for that $3000-$4000 47RE replacement. . I have DDII's sitting on my dresser waiting for my 100K valve adjustment. Gotta question. Can you FEEL the difference between DDI's and 2's and is the smoke difference MAJOR? ALMOST seems a shame to prematurely fry what has been a great trans for the last 95K miles with too much power. The general consensus is that DDII's and the fuel box are gonna do it. What is the general stress level that the trans can take before it starts failing? 275HP, 305HP? Will it survive with DDI's and not DDII's. Sorry for the rambling, I think I am working through the denial period of knowing my trans is next. Any auto guys that have been through this, would love to know the mods you did and when and how your transmission fried. Misery LOVES company :D

From their website:

Diesel Dynamics' new True Torque Power Module releases 50 rear wheel horsepower and 100 ft-lbs of torque in a matter of minutes!

This module can be installed quickly and easily on any 98. 5 to present Cummins 24v ISB engine, including the Dodge Ram pickups and motorhome applications, for an drastic improvement in both horsepower and torque output.

The True Torque Power Module will add the same 50hp/100ft-lbs of torque to any level of injector. This means that Stage 1 injectors and a True Torque Module combine for 100hp/200ft-lbs of torque to the wheels! We call this a Stage 1 Pro kit.

Wimped OUT! I already have 275's, sent back the new in box DDII's for some DD1's. After the TT box and boost elbow, I am very pleased. I figure about every 100K or so it can't hurt to change the injectors. How long can they really stay clean with injector cleaner?? Figured @ the 100K valve adjustment, I'll go with some new ones. Anyone want some 275's with about 90K on them REAL CHEAP? They work perfectly, I just gotta change something while I'm in there. . I have one problem now. The 28+ PSI boost is trying to suck the stock air box and cleaner through the turbo hose! I have NEVER seen the little yellow useage indicator on my airbox show before I did this mod. Now it sucks it right to 100% clogged reading with a new Fleet filter EVERY time a munch the pedal. I love it! BUT, I do not think I want the K&N setup, whats another filter that drops into the airbox? Lets not start the never ending K&N issue here, just thought I saw another maker that drops into the stock box. I need a filter that breathes better BUT still filters most dirt and dust. I live on a dirt road and drive it every day. I do not want K&N under my conditions. Suggestions?

do a seach under "BHAF part numbers" It is the best flowing for the money. It will mount up right to your turbo inlet hose. About $50 is the most I have seen it for. I run one with the HX40 and dd2's with the comp on 5x5. I see temps around 1350 max and that is @ 100 mph.
