3406E Broke Crank!!!!

This, from today's news about reductions in crude oil prices:

The producer group (OPEC), which supplies about a third of the world's crude, said in a statement after an emergency meeting in Doha that oversupply had destabilized the oil market.

Strange, they were silent as prices were RISING in a wild and uncontrolled manner. stating they were totally unable to control those runaway prices - but now that prices are on the downswing, they whine, wring their hands and threaten to reduce output to control the market against "destabilization"...

They dern sure weren't concerned while that "destabilization" was going THEIR way!

OH YEAH, I'll surely cry myself to sleep tonite over their predicament - maybe even say a prayer for them... :-laf :-laf

Prices on the down side? Yeah for a little while ... here in NH diesel just jumped up 5 cents yesterday. Gas is up a penny or two also.

I think the "lower" prices are over and we will be back up to $3. 00/gal by mid winter.

well if you have to burn it red, if you have to burn corn oil. I argee with Gary and i aslo noticed their little comments. TALK ABOUT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK they basically showed their true colors and the fact that they do control the market as far as price going up and down. . are there only a few of us that notice this or are most turning a blind eye, i know the ones with political pockets are turning the other way...

Ain't it great! They may hold the oil gun to my head. . but I can cut my use by half any time I want: "Don't make me use that Jetta".

And now we have a chain of stations selling 10% bio. B10 + ULSD is a perfect combination. Lubricity is no longer a worry and somebody is taking a 10% hit right in the shorts.

Gotta go..... can't stop laughing.....

Mike

ps: News flash: B50 coming next spring! Hey. . Big oil. . guess who's getting all my business next year.

Yup. Last year I went from a 20MPG daily driver to a 43MPG one. It's my way to stick it to the man! :D

But I sure miss my Cherokee :(

YUP, gotta LOVE the way big oil forces us to make big substantial lifestyle changes - smaller vehicles, drive slower, fewer trips and shorter vacations - and yet we think WE are outsmarting HIM...

All the while HE smiles all the way to the bank in his chauffeured Cadillac SUV, carrying all his obscene profits from making MORE money while processing and selling LESS fuel...

Yeah, we're "winning" this one BIG time!

Well... your right. . they got us. I'm just doing what i can to use as little of their product as possible.

We have a few small scale Biodiesel plants coming online here in Idaho. Guess who's getting "ALL" of my business when they start production. That money can stay right here locally. . burning a product that is carbon neutral.

Just makes sense to me.

Mike

Don't get me wrong, conservation IS a good thing - and I fully understand and accept REASONABLE price increases to reflect inflation. But I never will accept that what we have experienced in runaway prices - and matching oil company profits is anywhere CLOSE to a TRUE "reflection" of production/distribution costs!

Europeans, and our own well-heeled liberal upper crust have been trying for DECADES to inflict a massive guilt trip on our society over the vast differential in fuel costs between our country and most foreign countries - and at the same time, put most of us on bicycles and micro-vehicles.

Completely ignored, is the fact that many of those foreign countries get THEIR crude oil for the same, sometimes LESS than we do - the vastly higher pump prices are largely due to government taxation and cowed socialized societies that have accepted and traded the loss of their freedoms and liberties for the "security blanket" of Draconian governmental controls.

We here in this country are slowly grinding our own way down that same path thru artificial "energy emergencies" and similar manipulations that ultimately are engineered and geared to make us happy and willing to pay more to get less - while government and - in this case, big oil - get bigger and fatter.

I may well be forced to pay more for my own energy supplies, but I absolutely REFUSE to accept the notion that various sacrifices I and my family might have to make are a GOOD thing - or that in any way our sacrifices are an effective method of "getting back" at those who manipulate conditions to artificially lower and alter our lifestyle - as they enrich their own!

OK - rant mode is off...
