Gov. Lever

I believe, i might have asked a question, that no one has been able to give a answer? Someone out there in p-7100 land has had to try this to see what would happen?

If the lever is not at the right place there will be less power. I suspect no one has screwed it all the way in because no one wants anything but the most power and that isnt it.

When I adjusted mine I ran it all the way in and drove it then, all the way out. Power and SMOKE when the lever is up too high. Lots and lots of SMOKE! High EGTs too.

gov. lever

My friend has a 96 ram with the ctd an a auto trans, all he has done was turn the gov. lever screw almost as far as it would go, and its seems to have good power, he can pull 48 psi of boost and his pyrometer probe is 6" down from the turbo in the downpipe, and i've personally seen the pyro read 1600* at 40 psi of boost. Now if that probe was in the exhaust manifold with that much boost how hot would the exhaust temp been?

At 1600 post turbo that reading pre turbo would read new pistons.

Add about 400 deg for pre turbo and hope the pyro is accurate and not reading 100 deg low.
