I installed a #4 camplate into my pump tonight, and the gov lever arm will not even touch the plate, so i turned the gov lever screw in and it lowered the gov lever more , so i backed it out and with the screw almost completely out it just barely touches the bottom of the camplate, so i turned the screw out a little farther and it fell out into the pump, i retrived the screw nut and lock washer, and started it back into the gov lever. How do i get the gov lever to raise any farther, it needs to come up another 1/8 inch, to strike the plate in the correct position. Help ME!!!

nfox, just out of curiosity, did you have the fuel shut off solenoid in the up (run) position? I have tried doing the the gov. lever adjustment with the fuel shut off in the on and off position and it has never made any difference, but I think that Piers and others seem to think that the adjustment should be made with the fuel shut off in the on position. Just a thought. Each pump is different!

Gov Lever Adj

This is another question for all of you, when i was adjusting my gov lever, i tried it first by leaving the fuel shutoff in the down position and opening the throttle slowly it wouldn't even come close to the #4 camplate, with the shutoff in the run position, it would just barely hit the bottom of the camplate, so i reinstalled my #10 and with the fuel shutoff in the run position the gov lever hits it right at the tip of the nose perfectly. So why will it hit the #10 camplate and just barely touch a #4? This got me confused!! Any ideas!!

In the run position AND THE THROTTLE RAISED UNTIL THE LEVER TOUCHES THE CAM PLATE. Then you make the adjs. After that, hang on to your rear end when you hammer it.
