Keith,

Just did mine last weekend, the measurement was the same on both of mine. But that didn't help me, when I was done the idle was about 150rpm's too high. I ended up re-adjusting mine 3 times to get the idle right. Screwing the adjuster tighter will increase idle, loosen will lower rpm's. My spring was set right by adjusting the screw down till I felt 1 soft click, then turning 3 more clicks. (about 1 turn past the first soft click) That was perfect for mine anyway.

Interesting ... thanks for the replys ... I guess I'll start with . 055 and go from there ... I figured they should have the same tension on each ... life is good!

Gov springs

I believe there is some possible variation when measuring from the tip of the stud to the nut, due to manufacturing variations of the length of the stud. I've installed 2 sets of gov. springs and neither time were each side EXACTLY the same. They varied by . 020-. 030" and thats how I reassempled them with the new springs. The tension is what needs to be the same.
