Hey-

I am on my way to buying a piece of property in Acton, CA as an investment. I was told my a family member who worked for the govt. that they will give you money to grow certain crops on your property. I wouldnt mind growing a few to help pay the loan, and possibly sink a well. The property is zoned A2, so i am all legal to grow some crops but does anyone know how or where i can find out about applying for the grants?

Thanks-

Erik

Check out your local Department of Natural Resources, or Farm Services Agency (USDA) Every state is different, but you should have some type of office around you. I just switched 22 acres from crop to trees and they paid 75% of the costs. If that doesn't pan out, look to rent out or lease your land to a farmer, I have 32 acres in crop that I rent out for $125/acre.
