Hey guys!!!

I had a little extra time today and decided to try the gov. lever adjustment and am having some trouble.

First off I have a 98 12 valve with piers 370's, 4000rpm gov spring kit, AFE Megacannon, 4" ex. , full DTT transmission, and a Banks plate and intake(installed by the former owner). I dont know what # plate my banks plate is equivalent to. It looks similar to the #6 that is in the pics on Piers site with the big nose on the bottom but am gonna attach a pic so you guys can take a look.

Anyway, the way I understood the instructions were to adjust the lever to the tip of the nose on the plate, which would be at the top of the nose and not the bottom of the plate---right??

I tried adjusting it there and got it close, but was really close the the end of the screw. I didnt want to get it too close the end of the screw and have problems with it coming out and just left it there. I went for a ride and had a hard pedal and no power till about 1700.

So, I brought the truck back and thougt I might have it too high and adjusted it about half way back down the nose. Now I have a hard pedal and no power till about 2700.

Any ideas??

If anyone has any ideas on the equivalent on my plate please let me know. I dont think it is very aggressive, because I have always thought the truck was slow--especially before the 370's and gov springs.

Thanks!!!!

It is equivalent to a #8 TST plate. I just took the same plate out of my dads truck. TST will take a trade in on the plate, as they made them for banks. You can upgrade to another plate through them for $50. They charge you $200 for the new plate and will credit you back $150 after you send that one back.

We replaced our #8 with a #4 and 3GSK. It really works well together. Being as you already have a 4GSK. I would recommend this plate. Woke the truck up great down low. Ours was slow on the bottom side too.

Last week, we of course had to have some more and just put in a #0 and 4 inch dowpipe to our stacks. Next week we are adding a 4GSK, Valve Springs (to keep the valves from floating) and getting the pump tweaked.

CAUTION, This is very addicting!!

Piston did you adjust your gov lever??

I have been working on the truck this morning and to get the lever to the tip of the nose I had to take the screw all the way out.

Anybody else done this???

Any downsides to just leaving it out??

I have looked at several pics and it just looks like it is only an adjustment screw and doesnt hold anything in place or anything.

I am gonna try it there and see what happens.

Thanks!!!
