A while back there was a post about governor springs and GAmes made a comment about that he just

turned the nut a little tighter I am trying to find out if I read this right or I missed something which I

Do from time to time. If this is possible I would like some details as my governor starts to scale back about

2200 and I could sure use some more RPM before it does that If I could get 2500 to 2700 I think that would do me just

fine any help would be great

Carl

Tightening the nuts usually makes the idle springs too tight and you get surging, etc. You could make a shim for the high rpm springs, but it is easy to drop a shim into the housing so be careful.

Thanks Joe I think I will just bite the bullet and get a 3000 RPM spring kit that way I will do it right
and not cut corners THANK YOU for the good advice
