I have a 340c and it does just fine, it actulally tells you the name of the street to turn on not just turn right in . 3 miles, like many of them do... so consider what it says. . it does make driving simple that way, when you don't know the area.

i bought/my boys bought me a nuvi 660 , i got a 200w for my mom. awesome units. ill get a pic of my install this afternoon.

over all : i highly recomend it!

i loaded a 2gig sd card full of mp3's last night, went for a drive today, plays thru the radio, turn by turn directions interupt the mp3, as well as cell calls! yes its hands free wireless. another nice bonus, i can still see it with polorised glasses on! cant do that with my cell!

Hi gus, nice pics there.

I just got a Magellan 4040 for Christmas and I am trying to decide if I want to exchange it or keep it. I will have to research for a day or two and see.

I have the Garmin 7200 in my truck and with its 7" screen and over all capabilities I really like it. I'm surprised at times how much information is in it and also the different configurations that can be set.

Many choices

I have used a Garmin product that is a hocky puck size receiver that plugs into my laptop. The laptop is mounted infront of the radio and gives me a 15 inch screen to work with. I purchased a TomTom XL for my wifes TBlazer and have uesed it sometimes in my Ram. I think the garmin product is best to use for the long trips as the 15 inch screen is hard to beat. The garmin cost me $150. and the custom laptop stand cost about $300. The laptop I had so no new cost was involved there.

The TomTom XL can be found for $250. and has a suction cup for the windshield. This system works well but is a little hard to see for us with old eyes.

If you want to minimize your space and have the availability to move your GPS between vehicals, then I would consider the TomTom.

The laptop systems has more trip info built into it and can be easily read.

After having used a GPS I would not consider a trip without one.

I received a Garmin Nuvi 200W for Christmas and so far, I love it.

Trying to deceide exactly where to mount it since Calif law prohibits mounting on windshield.

Thinking about mounting the same place as Gus did.

Also checking Garmin site for more mounting base options.

Most guys that I have read about having the "no windshield" mount opt for the bean bag and simply sit it on the dash...

I could do that or having a dash mat on the dash of both vehicles, I could look for some heavy duty velcro strips and mount the base using that.

Didn't your's come with the little plastic "dash disc" for using the suction cup on a dash???

Yea Steve it did, but with the temps I get during the summer, I didnt want to trust the sticky stuff to fail.

I may look into mounting it like Gus did.

If you clean the dash area with alcohol first it will not come off. I have had a universal mount for my TST on top of dash for over two years now. Looks like Gus did use the dash disc that came with the Garmin. That is what I used also.

I am currently using a Tom Tom Go 510 with a windshield suction cup. No problems whatsoever. Have a Garmin SP7200 coming (much larger screen, 7" diaginal) with several different Ram mounts.

Well here is a picture of my nuvi 350 installed with the dash disc under the dash like Gus's 03. Still just suction mounted, very easy to unsnap to remove and carry as full portable or remove the suction mount and move to another vehicle.
