Walmart interview

They are also procreating with each other and producing another generation

I hardly ever stayed in Truck Stops very long unless I had to,

I NEVER PARKED IN THE BACK ROW WHERE THE " procreating " was taking place with the " Fuel Tank Franks or Bend over Billy's"

How does Bend over Billy and Fuel Tank Frank procreate with each other?

As said from me - a Swiss Truckdriver - you must be an Idiot to,do this Job in North America.
So many Hours, so many Miles and paid by Miles.
Not in a Bazillion Years I'd be such a slave to my boss.

Not all are paid by the mile Ozzy, I drove a fuel truck delivering fuel to gas stations. The company I worked for at one time thought about paying by the load. It was brought up to them that we have drivers that are paid by the hour and still take to long to deliver fuel and make costly mistakes. Now you want to pay by the load and have them speeding around making even more mistakes than before so they can make the same amount of money. The Boss's thought about the logic in their proposal and took their idea off the table.

My pay was based on a 4 day work week 10 hrs a day. time & a half after 40hrs, Double time after 48 hrs. I most of the time worked 5 days a week 12 hrs a day ( unless we wanted to go some place then just the 4 day 10 hr week)

I know that the wages that you make are substantially higher in your country than what we make here in the USA. But along with that so is the cost of living!!;)

You make more money but it all goes out to pay the bills, So really what's the difference? With the high price of things, if you want them you would also have to work longer to obtain them.

I didn't do the conversions but this may help its all in what your use to I guess :)

Yeah, that's right - but here we are 99.9% paid per Month, 42h a Week, 5 Weeks paid Holiday a year, 2 Weeks extra Holiday for Chrismas/New year also paid. And if i go sick or have an Accident i got 24 Months long my full money.
But to said it, I drive for a construction business - Delivery Trucker are not held this good.

Many years ago I thought about to go to Canada, Bison Transport, but I cancelled it shortly. Heard to much from other Swiss guys that have gone this way that they work 200000M a year to make a living.
America is always a Daydream for mostly every European Trucker, we all dream sometimes about it... A mystery big freedom, endless highways, Trucks with a Nose, yeah...... Real life is different think.

I think each has its good points & bad. The company that I worked for treated drivers well, Even the ones that didn't deserve it. I cant remember all the holidays we had off but it came down to Gas delivery was a 24/7 job if your day of work fell on the holiday you had to work. I didn't have a problem with working any holiday exempt Thanksgiving. I like to have a day of food and fun with the family and that was the Thanksgiving holiday to me. Christmas after the kids were grown wasn't that important to me. So most of the time I would voulenteer to work it for the guys that had young ones at home, And the fact that Triple time pay and a half ( something like $ 100 per hour) was hard to beat. Medical was Free for the entire family. Vacation was 2 weeks first 3 years 4 weeks until 10 after 10 Years was 5 weeks until retirement. The average company driver was home every night not having to go on the road. 200k miles in the USA is Much!! different than in Switzerland im sure.

Having been to Switzerland, I think that I would rather drive in the Western half of the USA. Lots of room and some fairly good road.

You traveled Europe & Switzerland - then you know how tiny everything is and how many people life on narrow place.

Even the Freeways are tiny... :)

Exactly!! Why I would rather put in the hours and miles on the Western US roads. Have been to lots of tiny places East of the Mississippi River that I would rather stay away from with a 65' vehicle also. Delivery of Gas in some gas stations in Los Angles Ca made a driver VERY CREATIVE about how he would get a LARGE TRUCK in and OUT without hitting something!!

Long Nose Trucks, Long desolate roads, Lots of Coffee & Music is my idea of Trucking. ;)
