Srortrak Pro

Tom, I bought a Sportrak pro a few weeks ago and it does everything they say it will do. I'm still learning how to push the buttons so I can't really say if it's better than the Garmin products.

I got it at www.gpscity.com They are real good to deal with and prices are as low as anybody. They have a comparison page on their website where you can punch in the different models and compare features, performance, etc. in a side by side fashion. Also, check out www.geocaching.com It is a board like this for people who are nuts about GPS units. You can join the board for free and there a lots of good folks who will help you out with your decision.

Sam,

Thanks for the good recommendations. Actually, I got the GPS mainly because of Geocaching. My girlfriends parents are visiting [Sacramento] from Harrisburg, PA, and her dad is really into Geocaching. We all went out on a couple cache finds, and it was a ton of fun. Christi is into it, but she doesn't have a GPS, so I figured Geocaching is something she and I can do together, and with her small kids too :) A BIG plus there!! Plus, it's something you can do all over the US, and in many other countries also, add some extra fun when you're out somewhere on vacation.
