My 03, SO, five speed, short bed has about 13,000 miles on it and for some reason as the weather gets hoter here in Phoenix the clutch seems to be getting a little rough on startup with no load in the truck. I notice it mostly in reverse but it is starting to get more noticeable in 2nd when I take off.

When the truck is cool, or in the morning the clutch seems to be just fine.

I thruck has not been used to pull my trailer very much so the wear on the clutch should be miminal with this low milage.

Anyone else having this problem or can make any suggestions?

I need to check my owners manaul again but I thought they got away from second gear starts? Either way it seems too early for clutch problems. Did you check the fluid in the res? may have a leak in the system somewhere!

Also check the bottom of the bellhousing for evidence of oil. If oil leaks from the rear main or front transmission seal it will permeate the clutch and make it grabby. Either way you're still under warrantee.
