Has anybody tried a G-vavle on their CTD?
(Check out http://home.earthlink.net/~turbogus/boostcontrol.html or http://www.dawesdevices.com/boost.html for more info. )
When assembled (in)correctly, it becomes a pressure relief valve, only opening at a preset (adjustable) pressure. I've got one on my Volvo (in the line to the wastegate) and you can really tell the difference in spool up. Since the valve doesn't open until I hit 11psi, the turbo spools real (really) quick up to that point. Then the valve opens and the wastegate begins to function, holding that psi.
They are very common in the gasser world for obvious reasons. (You can build one yourself for under $15 in parts. ) But I haven't heard of anybody using one on the CTD.
