OK, just got this granatelli monitor (similar to a Bully Dog)...

Installed it and everything seemed to work... test drive was me goofing with the monitor, didn't realize it had a power decreasing circuit so I cut power on the fly. Not sure if that did anything or not...

I return from the test drive, engine light is one... I have not one but THREE boost codes... of which the one only went away after I remove the monitor and took a drive (I panicked and blamed the monitor before I really tried to clear the codes with the monitor still on). Before I removed the monitor, I noticed the monitor was reading around 3psi boost with the ignition on/engine off (when I was trying to erase codes). Now, although the codes finally reset, would that possibly indicate a bad MAP sensor???

On a side note, boost touched 36psi with little effort and rail pressure peaked around 27k... this is on a STOCK truck...

Well, I figured it out (I think)...

The boost was capable of reaching 41psi on my STOCK truck... someone indicated I needed a boost fooler... for an apparent overboost.

I remembered this monitor having two dodge settings. So I decided to clear the codes and try the other setting. Now keep in mind that neither the Granatelli nor the BullyDog instructions have the same truck options as what I'm seeing... I have "03-05 Dodge O" and "03-05 Dodge wM"... I was set on the first one. After reading my BullyDog instructions one more time (keep in mind that this IS a Granatelli monitor), they have basically two options... the first is with their module (or stock) and the other is with "other" modules.

I put two and two together and got a max 36psi boost and no codes... everything is down slightly... rail pressure seems to peak around 23kpsi (it was over 27kpsi before). Overall, no difference other than the lack of codes and slightly lower readings.

So I guess tomorrow will tell all... if I don't get any codes tomorrow, I'll order the A-Pillar mount for it... and keep it.
