Shipping large stuff?

My wife is going to order a grand cherokee. We have received a couple of quotes from different dealers. They are basically the same sheet that shows msrp and fwp with each dealer having a different amount they add to the fwp price and then deducting the rebates.

Is the FWP price the "invoice" price? Are there any dealers that sell much below the FWP price?

FWP = Factory wholesale price. This is essentially invoice. Rebates are taken off of this number as well. Remember each dealer has a Holdback ("HB" on the dealer printout) of a 2-3% that they get back at the end of the model year above and beyond any other profit on the deal. I know there are some big dealers that will let you get into the holdback money - maybe someone can chime in on that?

In the past I've used the MSN online tool to find invoice pricing on new vehicles. Maybe you will find it helpful. In today's weak SUV market I would expect to get pretty close to invoice, not counting rebates.
