Just thought that I'd ask if anyone knew of a good RV park around the Jackson Hole area. I would like to be out of the park itself so that we can at least use a propane grill. I have been told that they don't even allow them inside the park, which leaves out the places like Colter Bay and the such. We still would need full hookups, and the trip planned is in mid June. Thanks.

I'd ditch the grill instead of Colter Bay, that is one of the best times I've had staying there in the tent cabins and I've been to 12 different countries.

At the risk of sounding like a wise guy, what's so cool about Colter Bay? I just didn't want to be stuck cooking all of the food (steak, salmon, ribs... I'm getting hungry) inside the trailer for the entire time we're there, but if I new some other place has more to offer, I'd entertain it.

Go into Teton Village and look up the Mangy Moose for a good brew and some grub. I really liked the Jenny Lake campground, but I can't remember what kind of hookups they had. (I was in a tent)

There are two campgrounds at Colter Bay. The one run by the National Park Service has no restrictions on grills or fires and is on a first-come first-serve basis. There are no electrical or sewer hookups either. They have a dump station and potable water access. The only restrictions on fires are that they must be built in the provided fire place-grills. The cost per night last year was $15. 00 per night with a 14 day stay limit. My wife and I have stayed in this campground for several days each summer for the last ten years or so. You have access to Jackson Lake for fishing and swimming. It is a good site to do day tripping up into the Yellowstone Park. There is a grocery with the standard high prices. There are also showers to keep from visiting the dumping station so often.

The other campground at Colter bay is reservations only. I think it is called Coleter Bay Trailer Village This one has full hookups and is close to the showers and groceries. It also costs over $40. 00 a night! My camping style does not seem to fit in there.
