is their a way to test the injectors when their in the truck. cause my pickup just started smokind a blackish gray or is it not the injectors

I find mine to load up when just normal driving . Every once and a while I will give it a good blow out . Are you able to monitor your boost? sounds like a boost issue. If it were injectors it would be happening all the time.

whatever the 30 horse with additional timing is

Smarty tends to smoke more than normal when you run the advanced timing. Try backing the timing off and see if that helps.

I have found a little added rail pressure will help the low end smoke somewhat also.

Is the smoke constant or at the lower end of rpm's then clears as the turbo spools?

Unless you run the engine hard and hot you will always get somewhat of a smoke trail when you get after it. Its the particulates building up in the CAT and muffler then get flushed. That should be pretty dark and will dissipate quite fast.

The grayish black is typical of the Smarty and how it is working with the emissions setup of these engines. Sometimes you have to play with the timing settings to get the best setup for your truck.

I run aftermarket injector timing for that reason but still get a little smoke but less than max timing. I wonder if a "proper" cam would fix the problem :D - oh the things we waste money on..... Oh, sorry, I meant the things we do to help the environment ;)
