Grease Zerts

How many grease zerts are there on the front end parts of a 2500 4x4 Quad Cab?

Changed oil today and lubed the three zerts I found. Filter came right off. Recycled old oil so Al Gore would be proud of me. I'll send him the old filter and empty oil bottles as a donation to his campaign.

I have 5 grease fittings on my 350 4x4.

bennettj,the two you missed point straight up,you almost need to feel for them and need a grease gun with a flex hose so you can make a "U-turn"to get the grease coupler on. I replaced the tough zerks on my 4x4 with the 90 degree angle type,it makes them alot easier to get at. Two squirts of the grease gun are plenty on each zerk,many people tend to overgrease which can rip the rubber boots.

Since you mention that "the filter came right off" I'll assume that you have a 2001 model 4X4.

I believe that you'll only find three zerk fittings on model years 2000 and 2001.

Do 2001 4x2's also have 3 zerks? I only found two...

There should be one on each upper balljoint and one on the track bar balljoint at the frame attachment end. Not sure why the lower joints don't have any.

Thanks Guys , I greased the 2 fittings on upper ball joints but missed the track bar zerk. I guess you are saying 2001 4X4's 2500 series Quad cab have only 3. I was surprised none on drive shafts or 4 wheel drive system, my old 92 Dodge diesel had lots more, They call this Progress! Warsaw, Missouri Truman Lake!
