OK, people usually post when they're having problems with their dealer... but I figure I would post my positive experience...
11/3/06, 1500 hrs:
I took off the day from work to meet my buddy up in Reno for a camping/chukar killing/ATV weekender. Well, I'm going up I-80 and get to Kingvale, when I notice smoke coming from behind the truck. Wierd. The truck is running fine. Check gauges, nothing abnormal. Well, I pull off at the Kingvale exit at the little Shell station. Smoke starts pouring from under the hood. I stopped, popped the hood and fuel is shooting up from one of the fuel lines. Yikes. So I shut the truck down and called a tow truck out of Truckee. In the meantime, I called Carson City Dodge (1, because they're the closest, and 2, my buddy says Reno Dodge sucks... ). They close at 6pm and but they are open on Saturdays and will look at it.
The tow truck arrives at 1600 hrs. and we hit Carson City Dodge at 1730 hrs. No problem, they write up the service order and they'll look at it tomorrow. I have no worries as it's pretty much bone stock and under warranty (27k miles). My buddy arrives, we load my gear and head out into no man's land.
11/4 1630 hrs- I call the dealer from some mountain overlooking Black Rock Desert (Verizon has pretty good service in the middle of nowhere, you jsut have to climb a mountain). Surprisingly, they say the truck is done, they had the line in stock. Engine bay and undercarriage cleaned also (diesel was everywhere). They'll leave the keys and I can pick it up the following night, no paperwork to sign, nothing.
11/5 1800 hrs- Pick up the truck. Everything is fine. Except for the diesel smell. Hood insulator is soaked with diesel. No problem, I just want to get home.
11/6- Head up to Elk Grove Dodge. Talk to the service advisor. He talks to the service manager and they'll replace the insulator, no problems, under warranty, but they'll have to order the part. No problem. They make a copy of my receipt from Carson.
11/8- Called Dodge roadside assistance. Told them about my situation and how I forgot to call them when I broke down. They say no problem, send the info to us with a copy of the service receipt. Made appointment for 11/13.
11/9- Mailed tow/service info to Dodge.
11/13- Hood Insulator replaced at Elk Grove Dodge. In and out in 1/2 hr.
Needless to say, I'm satisfied. I think they all did a great job. And the best part is the camping trip wasn't ruined at all. For those of you who want to know, the#4 fuel line cracked. And for those of you who want to know, my buddy shot two chukar.
