Thanx FoMoCo-stranded & out 598 clams (long)

A person from work along with a couple of his friends were in a boat testing a new prop a couple of years back they had just left the floating bar down by the dam on the california river and were driving by moonlight when they hit a stone embankment the only thing they found in a solid piece were the motors and after a couple of days they found all the bodys it looks cool but is dangerious and should be respected

outboards kick *****. sold my 18ft tunnel haul with 275 merk last summer. it ran about 70 at 4670 Ft MSL. 70 MPH on the watter is scary. Built a 22 Ft jet boat that will run maybe 60MPH. 454 at 6000RPM sounds cool as hek, and I may live to see 40. maybe

good post

The main thing I see is the outboards will hold that RPM for a long time without kicking a rod out. I don't know what they do to them but i can think of a few things to make them live longer and maybe add a turbo, Ted Jenetty did it to a snow mobile.

I've been the victim of a nut behind the wheel of a boat before who had me going AT LEAST 85 mph on a tube! They could've called me skippy because the bottom of the tube was probably barely touching the water! It was my brother who started turning in a circle at WOT! The tension on that rope was unimaginable. I thought I was going die. It was fun though. :D I didn't know if I should have bailed off or hold on for dear life. I held on.

Any other boating adventures?

I like running about 25 to 30 and making large figure 8's. After a few of them you run right up the middle thru a 4 to 5' high wake! Fun for the people on the boat as well as the one in tow...

Nothing that comes anywhere NEAR that!!

My brother and I used to wait for a good rain in the summer and hit the creek in a 12 foot canoe,. . Until we went over a "dry" ford, (that had 2 ft of water running over the top of it) took on 2 ft of water. . I heard him scream "GET US TO THE BANK, looked back and he was trying to bail with a 16 oz coffee cup , , , with the water about 6 inches from the gunnel!! It felt like the proverbial 500lb gorilla tipping the canoe from side to side, all the while we are taking on more water. . within 3 minutes we were wading/swimming,,, wading, swimming,, while holding on to our oars and the canoe. . Ever try to swim in knee high rubber boots?? I don't recommend it. . (Those boots should be somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico by now),, we were in the water for about a mile till we were finally able to get the rope around a tree, haul the canoe up and empty the water and head on downstream to where we left my truck,,, never did find my thermos OR my coffee cup!!!

And THAT was the last time I was in a canoe on ANY creek,,,
