This was brought up once before, but I do not remember it having too much response.

Is anybody using a Greddy or HKS turbo timer?

I am aware of the Turbo Timer sold by Geno's and the one offered by Isspro, but I was wondering if anybody out there has experience with either of these timers.

Thanks,

Ryan

I have one of the ricey ones on my WRX and I gotta say its nice and easy to use, a snap to install, and kinda looks spiffy too. Mine also has a built in digital boost guage--only problem is its not in either BAR or PSI but hg2/mm.

That's about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.....

I rest my case about using ricer goodies on a CTD.

Matt

Matt,

The unit I am referring to are right around $100. The best price I have seen is $85.

I know some measure boost or RPM's and whatever else but I think they are a little more spendy. I am looking for a simple timer on the ignition circuit.

Yeah MTY (aka K. S. S. ):

and we all KNOW how much you HATE ricer stuff... esp. Ricer cars like the

Supra and Skyline... ... . :rolleyes: :rolleyes: ;) :p :D :cool: :) :eek: :-{}

Damn, I hate those 9 sec full weight daily driven 40 + psi 3. 0 in line 6 Jasp mobiles... ... ... ... ...

FWIW, I run the Greddy Timers on my other cars and there excellent and easy to install...

HTH's

Ricers have good old American goodies behind them too..... like GM TH-350's/400's..... transbrakes... ... Ford 9" rearends..... Weldon's..... Garrett based turbos.....

I love FAST ricers... . the slow ghetto stuff annoys me to no end.

If I had a ricer... . I have to use ricer parts... ... until that happens there won't be any ricer stuff on my CTD.

My initial complaint was that I thought they were pricey - I stand corrected. :)

K. S. S.

Listen to MTY!? talk about pricey...

... . how many guys do you know that get a German bug as an accessory for their Cummins Truck? :D

MTE

We'll I guess I can't install one of these on my truck because they are stereotyped as "ricer" parts and Matt will make fun of me LOL :D

Here's my retort....

(... even though a 'retort' is an angry reply - I still felt it was an appropriate choice)

How many guys do you know that own less than $20000 combined book value in rolling stock?

How many guys do you know that spend less than $300/month in total car payments?

How many guys (my age) do you know that spend less than $1400/year for full coverage on two vehicles?

Now that everyone knows my monthy finances..... you'll soon figure out that I don't spend that much on my two beasts. :D

Accessory to my truck? I like to think of it as more of a necessity... helps to justify paying for / maintaining two (actually 3... ) vehicles. :-laf

MTY

Ryan... . just peel off the labels, paint it Cummins blue, and say that you're testing a special product from Geno's Garage.

Some people would say... . "Cool... good luck with it!"

Others will say... . "I want one!" - at which time you'll have to start fabricating all kinds of stories to cover your butt.

In the end you'll just have to fess up that it's a ricer part.

See - you're better off avoiding it in the first place! :-laf

MTY

It allows the engine to continue to run for a predetermined interval of time, AFTER you've taken the key out for the purpose of allowing oil to continue to flow through the turbo and allow it to cool down gently.
