Has anyone tried custom wiring in a turbo timer that was manufactured for gasoline vehicles?? I have owned several other turbocharged cars in the past and have used (with good results) the $100 turbotimers... . afterall, they're fairly simple units that just have to be wired in correctly to make it work.

I'm wondering if anyone on the forums has had the guts to chase down the wiring diagram for our truck, install one of the $100 units (and pocket the change saved from buying a $300 turbo timer from a diesel product manufacturer!), and still had good results!

If so, can you please direct me to a wiring diagram (and/or write up!).

Thanks in advance! I appreciate all of the help and knowledge available on the forums!!!:)

The newer Edge Juice/Attitudes have that built in. Perhaps if yours doesn't, you could call Edge about upgrading your module to include it? Their setup will keep the engine running based on time or EGT temp.

Keith,

Thanks a lot for the info... . I have been calling Edge on and off for the past year or so and they kept saying "it will be coming sometime". Perhaps I will try to see if I can get the upgrade... . if not, perhaps a new module (different manufacturer) will be a consideration.

Otherwise, I'd still like to just wire in a cheapy..... I think as long as I can find the correct ignition wires, it will work fine... .

Does anyone have anyput about stacking the Edge Juice with the Crazy Larry program... >??? I'm tryin to find out if I'm writing my own trucks death--I've heard that this combo might increase my chances of eroding the injector nozzles just because of the high rail pressure. I still don't have a rail gauge, but am considering getting one.

I've got Painless's Striker Turbo Timer on my truck. Got it through Jegs.

Any idea on what these typically run? I'll check around and see what I can find. I remember coming across a few options in these magazines in the past, but none of them were what I'd consider reasonable for such a simple electronic device (relatively speaking, in this day and age). $100 seems reasonable based on the price of turbo timers for other setups... .

I juat put a BD cool down timer on mine (1996) came with very good instuctions and told you what wires to use. It is adjustable from 550* to 250* or 5 min. what ever comes first. It was about $120.
