Radio issues?

Lately the radio is doing something weird.

sometimes when I turn off the ignition, the radio will stay on(like retained power in a GM). usually only for a second but today it took 5 sec. to shut off.

it was long enough for me to be able to pull the keys and get the door open before it shut off.

Is it the radio or is there something else?

I don't think the TTM is involved since the engine shut off like it was supposed to (exhaust wasn't hot enough for the TTM to keep it on)

Recently, I have to push the on button 3 times to get my radio to come on. Also, the auto dim feature doesn not work anymore. So it stays real bright at night or too dark during the day. I took it in before my warranty ended and it was ok for about a week. But now it still happens.

I had this exact thing happen. Here's the story...

Started having the delayed radio symptoms. Took it to the dealership... diagnosed as a bad body computer in the guage cluster. Ordered a replacement guage cluster, which is a STAR item that needs approval to be released. They goofed around for over two weeks, claiming the guage cluster didn't come in. After I got it back, they told me it was the CB backfeeding power into the system (which I verified through the manufacturer is not possible, besides I was running it this way for over a year).

They dinged me $800 diagnostics, and there was this mysterious $29 cable that was not part of the bargain. They never did replace the guage cluster... I am very sure the cable was the issue and I got taken to the cleaners...

I may have the part number for that cable, but it'll be over 2 weeks before I get home.

If you can find the # that would be great! At those prices it won't be seeing the dealer anytime soon!
