Anyone else have a problem with this.

I know the lift tweaked the angles, but I installed the spacer it came with.

I would have thought that it would have lasted longer than 2K miles. #@$%!

No, but it is the one that is made for that lift.

I noticed moderate vibration in the lower gears, but it went away once up to speed.

I think what did it in was some hard launches from a stop.

Anyways, what can I do now?

How much axle wrap are you experiencing? Some guys notice axle wrap with stock springs. I wonder if a ladder bar setup would help.

Is the Spacer 6"... ... ... . Wow talk about a carrier bearing problem... . that would be one.

The spacers rae 1/2" or 1" depending on the amount of lift. I also would not elliminate the carrier bearing and it's joint, there is plenty good reason the factory used one on these trucks.

What you need to do is get yourself a angle finder, sears has a nice inexpensive on for 25-30 bucks or you can go digital like mine and pay alittle more but you will have more accurate ressults. Measure the angle at the carrier bearing and then at the rear end, you lift kit should have had instructions dealing with this issue. It is very possible and many make the mistake of installing the tapper to the wrong direction, this will defffinitly cause a bearing problem. Did you install the lift, did it involve a tapered block, wedge or special spring?

Hopefully you will find something amiss and your bearing problems will be behind you. When you do purchase the replacement bearing, go with the HD version, it should help also.

Thanks for the useful info.

No, I did not do the install, but the guys that did are a really good diesel shop. I don't think that they do alot of lifts, so you may likely be right about driveline angles.

I'll check into it. Thanks again.

BTW, does anyone know the factory specs on driveline angles???

I think there's some difference in terminology going on here. Carrier bearings are the bearings the differential rides on, pinion bearings are the ones the pinion shaft rides on making up 4 total bearings in the diff assembly. The bearing in question I believe is the pillow block bearing that supports the long driveshaft on quad cab long bed and mega cab trucks.
