Assuming that you're a poor Yankee who really doesn't know, it's the impression/wear ring left in one's Levi's (or Wranglers) from carrying a can of Skoal snuff in the hip pocket over long periods of time. :-laf

When the Game Warden's wife up in Kalispell use to give me a hard time about chewing, e. g. "How are you ever going to find a gal if you are chewing that stuff?". I'd respond "Well, I'm looking for a gal to swap chews with at the altar instead of rings. " :-laf
