My grid heater element was taken out by the PO and I am looking to replace it, but a new grid heater is like $140 and all I need is the little element and washers. I have however found a grid heater from a 92 on ebay. Any reason why I can't buy it and remove the element and install it in my 98? Doesn't seem like Cummins would have changed this part eventhough the Grid Heater housings are different. Here is the site on ebay.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jamie

There are actually two elements required and it looks like they are both there. Find out the dimensions of the casting. It may directly replace the one you have.

He may also be able to tell you or let you buy it on approval. I doubt if there is a big market for them.
