Griffin Radiators

Has anyone tried a Griffin Radiator part # 5-594GG-BAX if so what do you think of it? I tow fairly heavy and can keep my EGT in check but have a hard time with the water temp. These guys say there radiator will support up to 600hp and have twice the cooling capacity of stock.

that part # refers to a 600 hp GAS truck not sure it'd work on ours.

It would be nice to actually USE the horse power we have to pull with instead of “backen're down 5” every half mile on a long pull.

I just called them back and they assure me it is for a diesel and the hp rating is for diesel.

Our rads. are 36" long their listing shows a 31" ?

Will your's drop right in for will it require some mods?

I've read of some guys on this forum taking their radiators out and washing them real good with strong detergent and picking up some cooling. You can look through there and it will look clean, but will have a film of dirt and oil that insulates the outside of the fins. Especially in front of the fan.

I'm running an aluminum from Performance Radiator. works great for me! would like to see a company like griffin make a 2 row full alum. for our trucks!

Take out the radiator and bring it to a car wash and spray the heck out of it. You will be amazed what comes out and does it ever help! My water temp went up hauling the 5er and after I washed it out the temp NEVER moved off 180! 2002 CTD

Been there done that, @ 550 + hp our stock radiators are no match when towing heavy.



DCREED: Griffin does, I was just trying to find someone who tried it before laying down 600 bucks but I guess I have no choice now.

Yes, it would be nice to find someone who has used the Griffin's before we spend 600. 00 bucks on something that might not work any better than a clean OEM.

I hope it works for you. Personnally, I'm going to get an OEM replacement from Mopar4Less. $390 plus shipping. My thought is after 11 years and nearly 600k miles I just might have a few deposits that nothing will dissolve.

If I wasn't trying to tow a house at 65 up the mountains of Ca and my stock radiator would keep things cool I wouldn't spend the extra money either but there is no way the stocker can handle 500+ hp and a GCVWR of over 24k.

Just bought a Prolliance Ready-Rad from Rockauto.com for $259 plus shipping. I heard somewhere they were the same as OEM, but could not verify it. Either way, it was a good buy and I was very happy with the purchase.
